Pubs in Sturminster Newton

“Great to find that Mel and Andy, previously of the Forester Donhead st Andrew, have taken on the tenancy of this charming old village pub. Soft lighting with simple wax candles on the tables. A typical Andy menu offering pub classics alongside notable dishes like cuttlefish tentacles as a starter and then roast partridge as a main. Small but good wine list. Warm welcoming staff. If you know good food when you see it, look no further.”

“Amazing place. The food was great but more importantly the staff were absolutely brilliant - great customer service, extremely friendly and were amazing with all my allergies. I would highly recommend this place and if I am ever in the area again, I wouldn't hesitate to come back.Dietary restrictions: Didn't make me feel awkward about the amount of allergies I have and even customised the menu so it was clear what I could and couldn't have.”

“I arrived as a visitor from Plymouth to play at the Sunday afternoon folk session. I was immediately impressed with the warm welcome I received. The landlord was excellent at organising the venue shifting furniture etc at the same time providing cheerful banter. The real ale was wonderfully kept (I had a few tastings to check!). This would be a regular haunt if it were down the road but a little far from my home patch!”
