After a long walk at the beach and the South Dorset hiking path we rested for a pint and some food. It was great! The sun went down, we were sitting outside and enjoyed the evening. We had a veggy burger and stroganoff. A very nice location. But some seat cushions would have been nice.Vegetarian options: Veggy burger was great.

We very much enjoyed our Celebration Dinner here with 3 other couples. The service was very efficient, attentive & friendly from Aaron & Millie. The 3 course meal from the a la carte was for the most part excellent, although I was a little disappointed in what was described as “crispy duck leg” - not crispy & unattractive rather stringy meat, but the whole dish was attractively served with Dauphinoise potatoes, green veg & carrot puree. All the other dishes were well liked, especially the fish & the scallops. Good wine list, & several very good value, especially the Chilean Sauvignon Blanc. Our marks out of 5 Food 4. Service 5 Ambiance 4 Value 5

Fantastic place with amazing staff. This 16th century Manor House is definitely how it was described. Food was out of this world... The Sunday Roast is a must. Will definitely be back again. Thank you Steven and the team.

Last month we held our wedding at the Manor House Hotel. Huge thanks to Lyndsey, Stephen, Millie and everyone at the Manor House who helped make our wedding weekend perfect! From the moment we met Lyndsey and started discussing our wedding plans, we knew we were in safe hands. Lyndsey was friendly, organised, enthusiastic and everything you could want in someone who was helping to organise your wedding. Nothing was too much trouble and we were able to tailor it to be the day/weekend that was right for us. We had the best time and were both so relaxed because we knew they had everything under control. All our guests were complimentary about the bedrooms, food, and the friendliness of all the staff. We 100% would recommend having a wedding at the Manor House. We’re looking forward to going back for a meal again soon!

We have just returned from a four night stay at this wonderful hotel. Stephen and Lyndsey run a very friendly and professional establishment. From the moment we arrived until the day we left we felt welcomed and looked after. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff and each one of them made our stay memorable. We ate at the hotel most nights as the food and ambiance was so good. The views from the hotel are amazing and the location for exploring the area is great. This was the perfect place to stay to get away from it all and would definitely recommend to anyone thinking of booking to stay here. Well done to Stephen, Lyndsey and their team. Keep up the good work.

Beautiful place! Cosy room, comfy beds and clean bathroom. Astonishing view and very friendly staff. Food was delicious! Steve, the in house manager, was super welcoming with a nice “ready to help” attitude that made me feel at home. Lovely!

What a hidden gem! Had a beautiful stay at the weekend, all staff very friendly and welcoming. The food was amazing. So close to the beach, could hear the sea at night. Had a sea view from our room, which was lovely. Will book again.

We have been staying at The Manor for over 25 years. Seen various owners come and go. The new owner RedCat are obviously making steps updating an old characterful hotel. The staff are really good and welcoming. Especially Millie. Kitchen staff team. Sadly the shine of our last visit was marred at the end of the evening. One of the bar staff was chatting with guests. Cigarette behind his ear and his Husky puppy running around all over the place, including behind the bar etc. Not the image that guests want to see.

This hotel is wonderful, the rooms are so comfortable and beautiful. This is the experience of luxury that I had hoped for, the relaxation, the feeling of being well looked after. The staff are amazing, made us feel right at home as soon as we arrived. We had a lovely lunch, fish and chips, flat iron steak baguette and fries. Fresh, hot, crisp and very tasty. It set us up for a lovely walk to the beach which is literally 50 yards from the hotel. At night one can see the stars over the water, and we could hear the sea, lulling us to sleep. The sunset was watched from the lovely beer garden, a cozy corner sheltered from the wind. Even in February it was a joy to sit in the fresh air. Evening dinner was superb, I never has crab beignets before, they were delicious. My husband’s lamb was the best he remembered ever tasting. The bed was huge and comfortable, the best feature in the room for me was the window seat where I curled up to watch the sea and read. The bathroom had a huge shower, very strong and hot. Magic after a long day. The price for a night, with breakfast and dinner was incredibly reasonable for what we experienced and we are already planning our next get away here, this time a little longer, top give ourselves more time to explore the South West coastal path right above us. This is a place I’m definitely

Lovely friendly small hotel with a warm welcome. We enjoyed our short break very much. The room was very comfortable and clean, the food was good and all the staff were very helpful and friendly. We hope to return to explore more of the lovely Dorset coastline.

Cannot speak highly enough of this place! We dined here during our holiday and had Sunday lunch, it was utterly fantastic and probably the best Sunday lunch I've ever had! Service is impeccable and everyone is so lovely and friendly, I really can't fault it. Wonderful place, wonderful people, wonderful food.

Lyndsey and Steven are exceptionally talented and hardworking. The Manor House provides a welcoming atmosphere, comfortable rooms in a stunning setting, excellent food, and attentive, warm and incredibly efficient service. Lyndsey and Steven clearly care passionately about making the experience of staying with them special for each and every guest. It's also clear how much they care about and support their staff. It means that there is a real sense of the Manor House operating as a close-knit team. The warmth is palpable. It was our second stay and we will be returning regularly -- it's a truly special place run by lovely and generous people.

Beautiful manor house with excellent food! I had the lamb and my partner had the fish pie and we were both really impressed. Weather was absolutely awful when we went, but we still really enjoyed our stay without leaving the hotel. Really good value on our stay with breakfast included too.

Just returned from our second stay here and can't wait for or third. Great location and lovely quirky old building. Food is fabulous and value for money. But what makes this place is the staff. All girl team this weekend with Lyndsey, Millie and Jo (I think I got the names right) they honestly can not do enough for you, even though busy they are warm, friendly and attentive. Thank you for a lovely weekend girls.
