We stayed at the kings head during the new year Eve break. We had a wonderful time there. Friendly and helpful staff who always smile, clean and cosy room, and never forget the delicious food. I especially loved the festive decoration, creating a perfect cheerful atmosphere for winter holiday, which brightened our mood a lot. Great location, right next to the central square, with walking distance everywhere. This place is really a treasure to the town.

We took my parents here over Christmas for lunch. The food was delicious, so tasty and beautifully presented with great attention to detail,The staff- Trefor, Laura and Daniel couldn’t be more helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Very friendly and professional at all times. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left we were made to feel welcome, comfortable and “at home”.A beautiful, warm and friendly place to go for a drink or food.We can’t recommend The Kings Head highly enough and we will definitely be back.Thank you for a very enjoyable time.

Very very disappointed.Christmas decor beautiful, and welcoming but that’s where the compliments end.Bar staff terrible. They continued to talk to each other, when they could clearly see us waiting. Just as they were about to ask for our order, a local walked in, and the bar maid told us that they were serving them first because they know where they live. Very rude service. There were 11 of us celebrating a birthday. We all placed our order with lovely waitress, only to be told fifteen minutes later that there was no fish and chips. Four of us ordered fish and chips so we had to chose other items from the menu. When the food came out eventually, the chips were cold, the “award winning pies” had no filling and clearly microwaved, the Aisian pork was so dry it was hard to chew, and fish goujan ciabatta had a whole piece of fish in it, so they did have some fish for the fish and chips, they’d just rather serve it in a ciabatta!Absolutely terrible food and terrible service from bar staff. No wonder it was empty and there were no other guests. We definitely won’t be going here again. Shame, ruined the birthday.

We went to the Kings whilst our house was having work done. Staff, atmosphere, food, the feel of the place was fabulous. We felt very relaxed. I certainly enjoyed sitting on my bed listening to the very nice ambience of the square. People chatting, laughing, and the sound of distant music. It was great. The hotel does need a little tlc, but the friendliness of the staff more than make up for it. Even when we needed to extend our stay. They are excellent.Gareth and Bunny Thomas.Rooms: Lovely rooms, large, clean, plenty of room. Wonderful.Walkability: Everything you need is to hand. The square is wonderful.Food & drinks: Food was lovely. Especially breakfast.

Lovely pub. Meeting room would benefit from plug sockets near the meeting table. Friendly staff other than what i assume was the landlord. He was a tad abrupt. The guy who wore painting overalla however who brought thr drinks was lovely and very friendly. Also thr female member of bar staff also very good. Food was lovely but a few decent items not avaiable.

What a great place. The staff were friendly and attentive, food was great especially breakfast… the room was clean and comfortable. I spoke to Trevor the receptionist and he was so extremely attentive to my wife and I. A real professional. Will be back next year for sure.

Lovely stay at ThexKings Head in the town Square in Wimborne. Spacious room and large en suite with endless hot water.Great value meals and drinks. Very friendly staff led by the manageTrefor who I believe is new to the hotel but clearly knows what he's doing in terms of motivating a happy team.Would highly recommend.

Stayed at Kingshead from September 12th to September 15th, 2023.Check-in on the 12th at 14:00 was a breeze, although the staff member at the front desk initially appeared a bit distant, as if preoccupied with other tasks. Our room, Room 6, left much to be desired. It showed signs of wear and tear, with wallpaper peeling in places and cobwebs lurking in various corners. The curtains were unevenly hung, and a broken curtain rail made it impossible to close them properly. Some white paint stains adorned the curtains. The bedside lamp had a short cord, making it inconvenient to use from the bed.Our first evening meal on the 12th was acceptable. The staff, however, were a delight—pleasant and exceptionally helpful. On Wednesday, the 13th, we were rudely awakened by the noise of a delivery truck unloading goods at 6:30 AM, right below our bedroom window. Breakfast was a letdown, with lukewarm cooked items and underwhelming poached eggs. The sourdough bread was inedible.Dinner with friends that evening was mediocre, with overcooked chicken dishes and dry fish cakes. The battered fish was passable but lukewarm. Again, the staff shone with their pleasant and helpful demeanor. The 14th brought another disappointing breakfast with overcooked poached eggs, cold mushrooms, and unpalatable sourdough toast. The traditional English breakfast on the menu was far from what was served. We opted not to dine at the hotel in the evening. On the 15th, breakfast was a slight improvement, thanks to a detailed order given to the waitress, which the chef executed well.In summary, the Kingshead is in dire need of a renovation. We stayed in various rooms during our visits, and all were in need of a makeover. Broken and cracked windows, ceiling water stains, and sweltering rooms during the summer months were recurrent issues. The bathroom was functional but had a cumbersome tap system, and the hot water tap sometimes jammed, making temperature adjustment tricky.Rooms were reasonably clean, but small touches like changing water glasses and a more thorough cleaning would have been appreciated. The food quality was inconsistent compared to previous visits, leaning more towards pre-packaged items rather than freshly prepared dishes. The absence of the appealing specials menu of the past was noted. However, the standout feature of the Kingshead is its exceptional staff. They were unfailingly brilliant, always ready to assist with a smile and engage in friendly conversations. The staff truly made this visit memorable.

Horribly Rude staff didn't even make it to the point of ordering a pint. One interaction and we left. Say dog friendly but very much the opposite.

We decided as our house was a mess having had some work done to eat out in Wimborne. Our choice was The Kings Head which offers a good choice of British food. The Staff were welcoming and briefed us on the menu, took our drinks order which was other than the usual for my Wife and then came for our food order. Once delivered we were asked if we had all we needed and during the meal again a smiling genuine repeat enquiry. The Food was tasty, hot and well presented, our drinks just right and the pud blew the diet!! BIG Big thanks to Zoe, Jess and Ben for your excellent service and the Kings Head for a cosy pleasant venue for our meal. We will as we live nearby find another reason to return!!
