Rooms were really good and were cleaned when we requested as we stayed for five days. Tea and coffee facilities in the room there were also toiletries. Choice of whatever you wanted for breakfast aswell as cereal, juice and croissants.

Excellent town centre pub with rooms. Surprisingly quiet. Parking opposite is free from 6pm to 8am. Our room was small, as could be expected, but cosy and clean and adequate for short stay. Food is freshly prepared and beautifully presented. Staff friendly and welcoming.Walkability: On edge of town centre. Easy level walk to Minster and shops.Food & drinks: Excellent and freshy cooked.

My experience has been great, the room I stayed in with my friend was very nice, the pillows and beds were comfortable (a little narrow, yes) but the decoration was good and the bathroom was perfect, very spacious, especially the shower. which was huge. We had virtually unlimited coffee and tea in the room.On the other hand, and for me the best of all is the staff; The staff has been lovely since we arrived, they treated us as if we were at home and they are like family, they helped us with everything, recommendations for visits, they provided us with adapters for our European plugs, food, all with a lot of love, I repeat, the workers are lovely. The atmosphere in the bar is very good, relaxed and the decoration is also very good with the fireplace lit which gives a feeling of warmth.Highly recommended to anyone passing through the area to stay there, you will surely have a great time.

Lovely experience in this gem of a hotel/pub. Placed just on the edge of the town, we loved the room, evening meal and breakfast. Bonus was finding out it is one of the nicest locations to watch the 6 nations rugby.

A warm, friendly , relaxing accommodation. Lovely food and great drinks. Looks from outside, nothing special, but once inside, wow! I am looking forward to my next visit. Room's at front could be a little noise due to traffic.

Went for dinner today totally disappointed with service and food quility took much longer than needed for a booked set menu i had pre ordered braised feather blade of beef with horseradish mash but received 2 slices of poor cut beef very fatty and grissal going right through it and lumpy mash these were not little lumps but half a potato lumps I complained to be told sorry did I want the chef to make me new mash we had been waiting over an hour so said no the rest of my food would get cold and that was it. It was only when I got home I looked at the menu and saw it should of been braised feather blade of beef with horseradish mash if I had remembered this would of complained at the time food quality was very poor and the kids menu wasn't child friendly only having kail and onion as veg and roast potatoes were more like baked potatoes and turkey was wrapped with bacon and stuffed with stuffing so if you have fussy kids wouldn't recommend definitely gone down hill since last Christmas

Just had sunday roast there and it was poor at best. It took 3/4 hour for our food to come and when it did come it looked a mess, like they put the food on the plate and just poured the gravy over it. The cut of beef was too thick and atleast 25% gristle, we had 5 yorkshire pudddings between 3 people 4 had not risen and the one that did rise was burnt, i complained and was told that it was the last one. 2 out 3 meals was not finished as the meat was too hard and too thick and grisly and the veg where undercooked, when we came to pay the bill we complained about the uneaten burnt yorkshire pudding and got no response from the server and no offer of a discount. I shall certainly never go there again. If i could give zero stars i would.

We had booked 3 rooms as we were staying for one night to attend my nieces engagement party. All 3 rooms were very clean and tidy. The breakfast was very good with the usual cereals croissant and juices etc , the cooked breakfast was excellent, we were asked what we wanted and what ever we each requested was supplied. The only minor issue ( which shouldn’t put you off) is that the Minster Arms does not have a car park but there is public parking within 20metres. I would recommend this Minster Arms

What a lovely pub! Excellent food, warm welcome, and the comfiest bed ever! Should be more than 5 stars. It's my 1st time coming here, but I have fallen in love with the place, I will be back again. The smell of the log fire, the friendly helpful staff, washed down with quality ales and food. Just perfect!!!

Spent 3 nights here this weekend. Been here before and Hannah has made amazing improvements despite her having been here only 3 weeks. Her attention to detail is outstanding. Breakfast is faultless. My only issue would be hanging space for clothes in your room. Not a major issue though.
