Okay.. so I wanted to have a cup of coffee around about 8pm on a Saturday night and walked about the whole centre and tumbled upon this Bistro. They were fully booked but the owner I believe, let me have a seat and offered me the coffee and their ginger loaf slice and hand to god .. this is one the best ginger bread I had. The coffee was perfect. The place is so quaint and cosy with good music and the most friendly staff. In the future I’m gonna be making reservations to this Bistro well in advance and I can’t wait to try their meals god!

Owner was rude from the start, very unwelcoming. Looked my dog up and down and said you can come in if the dogs clean. Can’t have a hotter than usual latte, because they don’t do them and god forbid if you ask for vegan cakes!! Waitress abrupt and rude, my friend and I were made to feel very unwelcome. Wont be going back and won’t recommend to anyone

Lovely evening, cosy next to the roaring log fire ! Staff very welcoming and tapas was delightful, Spanish guitar music playing in the background made it all the more authentic . So pleased that we have another lovely place to frequent in Barney. I wish the team every success and hope that the locals give their support!

Cosy and authentic ambiance during our first visit to Tapas night at the Artisan Corner Cafe and Bistro. The staff were welcoming and sat us close to the roaring log fire. Greatly appreciated on a wet and cold evening. We were given a bowl of fruit and nuts to nibble on while we waited for our tapas to arrive. I had a cocktail and my husband had a beer. The tapas arrived and were described to us. We had a lovely selection, squid, chorizo, Greek salad , meat balls, squash and chickpea stew, hummus and ample focaccia for dipping. We felt totally repleat and are already planning our next visit!

Came upon this excellent café just across the road from the Buttermarket. Both the owner and the young waitress who served me were very friendly and made me feel really welcome. The downstairs café is cosy with comfortable banquettes, lots of nice plants and magazines to read. Found the log fire very inviting on a chilly wet day! There's another cosy room and toilets upstairs. They serve sandwiches, salads and light lunches, and you can order wine and beer as well as hot drinks. Opted for the ploughman's lunch and it really was a cut above average: lovely thick ham, terrine, cheese, and hard-boiled egg with chutney, grapes, and a crisp salad sprinkled with pumpkin seeds. Very tasty and filling, and the bread was so fresh! The tea was nice and hot. Could not resist trying a tiffin for afters, and it was delicious! The lunch cost a bit more than I'd normally pay, but it was well worth it for the quality of the food and service. Afterwards I had a look inside their little shop next door. Lots of foodie treats and also some nice crafts, pictures, toiletries and gifts. The lady who served me was very helpful, and I bought a lovely toiletry bag. Overall a very enjoyable lunch experience. I highly recommend!

Very nice little place with a real log fire and pleasant owners. Escaped from the rain during Storm Babet and had slices of Chocolate Cake and Carrot Cake washed down by Americano Coffee. Finished off with a nice glass of Baileys.
A small but lovely cafe in an interesting old building, visit the loo to see some of the older parts of the building. Good food and coffee. Staff very pleasant.
