Sadly closed and for sale. No one knows what the future of this pub will be - as there is another pub in the village, the authorities will likely permit a change of use.

A great little pub, great garden. Will be brilliant when it's allowed to open again.

Called in for a Sunday Roast, and was not disappointed. Trio of meat (beef, pork and chicken) all cook to perfection, mash, roasted pots, carrots, green beans, parsnips, peas, two Yorkshire puddings and plenty of proper gravy. I got the large and it was £15.95. Great value, as i throughly enjoyed it and i couldn't finish it all. (not like me)Bonus we could take our dog in also.Food 5* all day long, lost 1* because only 1 lager choice.Would recommend, and definitely go again.

only get to visit once a year when visiting family in the area we were undecided on whether to have a starter or pudding with our main so chose starters my wife had the calamari with a tasty dip and I had the caramelised goats cheese and pear salad both were excellent we both had the beef which melted in the mouth along with a selection of potato's and veg the pick being leeks in a cheese/cream sauce which were fabulous staff very friendly see you next year

We really enjoyed our Sunday Roast, we both had the beef which melted in the mouth, good selection of veg and amazing gravy. The portion size is good. Great desserts too. Friendly service.

Staying near Barnard Castle for the weekend, we discovered The Three Tuns for Friday night dinner. What a fabulous place to find. The staff were fantastic, very friendly and helpful. They ensured that our 11 month old was catered for and entertained! They also accommodated my dietary needs and were happy to answer any questions. Food was utterly amazing. We loved our potato skins especially. We only had enough room for a starter and main course, which was gutting when we saw the dessert menu. Therefore, Saturday night we visited again. This time for a main course and pudding. All of our main courses were excellent and it honestly was the best jam roly-poly I have ever tasted and beautifully presented. Staff again were so friendly and helpful, they gave us a 5 star experience. It is such a welcoming place, with a lovely atmosphere. We would recommend it to anyone. Thank you so much to a brilliant team, if we are this way again we shall certainly be back.

Excellet service and food. We visited High Force waterfall as part of a weekend away and wanted somewhere to eat lunch but didn't want to book as we had no idea how long we would be out. Looking on Google we found The Three Tuns and managed to get a table for two at short notice. From start to finish we were impressed with the friendly service and excellent selection of drinks. We both opted for thr Roast Beef Sunday Roast. Without doubt the best Pub Sunday Roast we've had and at an excellent price. The beef was cooked to perfection and was so tender it simply melted in the mouth. All veg was cooked perfectly too and the gravy - WOW! A lovely surprise find in a beautiful location with a lovely atmosphere. If you are passing by this pub is a must!
