Greeter was v good. Taken immediately to a table for two people. Drinks order was taken. Pleasant surroundings. Quite a queue at the carvery but that was to be expected. Whilst waiting for our "turn" we noticed a lot of choices were disappearing but these were fairly quickly replenished so that when our turn came around, they were plentiful.Returned back to our table, drinks were waiting for us, v good service. The food was very tasty, well presented but unfortunately parts of it were slightly on the cooler side, I like my food steaming hot ordinarily. This didn't detract from our enjoyment of the meal and we will definitely return again.Parking: Ample spaces at the time we called in. around 1700.

Visit here regularly. Never disappointed. Staff were friendly yesterday as usual, despite other customers giving them a hard time about things they couldn’t control. The only improvement would be to allow staff to show the door customers who are incapable of using a very simple booking system then complaining to staff that there are no high chairs available for their unruly child.

Went here for our tea with my motherinlaw who is 89 and doesnt go out very often so she was really looking forward to it. This has to be the worst experience ever in all of our years having a meal. The guy serving the food (not many teeth) was throwing the plates down throwing the food on the plates and moaning to everyone that would listen that his manager didnt care and that he had worked 5 days and was totally sick. Everyone in the queue were disgusted in his behaviour. I asked him not to slam the plates down and he told me if I didn't like it to GET OUT. Other people in the line were shouting bring the manager. He was told by another member of staff to get in the kitchen and he stormed off. The manager came over and said he would be reprimanded but within minutes he was back out serving. The atmosphere was awful, ruined our tea and I couldnt believe how unprofessional this resturaunt is. We will never return.

Me and my partner went for breakfast. The food was very nice. There was a bit of a wait for some food which wasn't ready like the eggs and beans but didn't take too long for the chef to sort out and the price was fine under £20 for both has clean toilets

Stopped in here on the way to Sunderland to watch Leeds with my wife. Got a table for 2 at 1700ish without having to book. Straight away I noticed how polite the young staff were. The carvery was absolutely spot on. Every thing cooked to perfection from the meat to the veg & Yorkshire puds. All topped off with delicious gravy. The only criticism was probably waiting 10+ mins for some fresh joints of meat & a new turkey to come out as they had all run out at the same time. Not sure why it took so long, but it was well worth the wait. We’d definitely visit again if in the areaParking: Restaurant was busy and hotel next door looked like it was getting some renovation so part of the car park was fenced off for the contractors equipment. Still a few car parking spaces available though. Easy access to the A19 as well which was handy

We came for a carvery from the Festive Menu. Our waiter, Luca, gave outstanding service from start to finish. He made us feel very welcome and made our experience very enjoyable. The carvery was delicious too! Highly

I met a friend at Toby Billingham on 28th November, who I had not seen for a long time so we had a lot of catching up to do.Beth was very helpful in seating us in a quieter area. The food was good too.

Food was bang on. Really busy at 5pm lucky we booked. However massively let down by a very rude and disrespectful member of staff towards my partner. Due to another member of staffs negligence. Just no need for the rudeness and how loud she felt she needed to voice her concern and try and belittle us.. The Chefs and most waiting staff had exceptional customer service let down by one very ill mannered staff member.. which resulted in a slight altercation and head of house came over which resulted in her apologising for her staffs rude behaviour but then tried to “tell me off” for voicing my opinion !Very unprofessional customer service factor which lets the over all experience down massively!! We’ve been to this Toby for many years and honestly won’t be returning for behaviour like that!

Got seen and seated quickly even though it was hectic! Staff are always very friendly and helpful, the queue for the actually carvery goes down quite quick once your in it. The food is always great - easy layout and great option for refillable drinks. Toby carvery have a customer for life in me for sure!! They do a lot of great bonus deals in their app too so often get a little bonus too which is great

Went to Toby with my partner the staff were great and always on hand to help couldn't fault the staff at all. The meat was very well cooked but the rest of the food was not the best. The place was very busy and wait times were very long no fault to the Toby. The tables were very close together and we might as well be sat with the other table. It was an experience I would not go back myself but if a carvery is your thing then you would enjoy it. The prices I don't think are that cheap for a bit chain where u have to get up amd get your own food.

Been here a few times now. Typical Toby carvery. Always plenty of veg to have and refreshed on a regular basis. The queue quickly goes down
