One of the best curries I have had in my life. Extensive imaginative menu beautifully cooked and served by lovely people in a smart comfortable restaurant. I’m an onion bhaajis fanatic, these were the best I’ve ever had.

Comfortable room with a nice atmosphere. There is a good choice of food on the menu, which is tasty and to a good standard. The service is excellent.I am not a particular fan of Indian food but I can recommend this restaurant.Parking: It is located just behind the restaurant. Busy during the day but plenty of space on an evening.

Fast friendly service, reasonably priced. I was part of a group of 16 and we didnt have to wait long for our main meal to come out and everyone enjoyed it. Well presented. Cosey surroundings. Would go again.

Food was delicious, service was outstanding! The atmosphere was created by such a lovely staff team with a great sense of humour. The passion from the female owner shone through when recommending meal choices. She was certainly one of the highlights of our visit.

Excellent food, every visit, as a couple, with family or friends is a great experience. The Indian dishes are superb with wonderful blends of spices.Kid-friendliness: Provide high chairs and are very child friendly.

Had an excellent meal at Soamis with a large group of friends. Restaurant was full and atmosphere was great. Railway lamb was top notch. Even with a large party and full restaurant, service was spot on and very friendly. Definitely recommended.

Soamis is a gem in Consett, everything about the place is excellent. The restaurant is clean and fresh, staff are friendly but it’s the food that really stands out. My wife and I have been a few times this year trying different dishes every time . The food presentation is superb but the taste and variation is outstanding. We have never had a single grumble with anything. Thanks to all the team and see you in 2024.

Would not recommend, I ordered the paneer makhni and was served the blandest food I have ever eaten, I don’t know what white washed dish they actually gave me, but it was definitely not paneer makhni, the curry wasn’t rich, nor tomato based, no cardamom or garam massala in sight. instead it tasted of cream and red food dye, highly disappointed. The waiting staff seemed lovely.

Delicious and does plenty of stuff you wouldn't normally find in an Indian - tonight I had the vension with gunpowder potatoes, chanterelle mushrooms and basmati which was nom nom nomJust a shame it doesn't do take out or delivery. I'd order from it all the time (to Lanchester) if it did.Kid-friendliness: Took a baby and it was fineWheelchair accessibility: Took a pram tonight so it would be accessible to wheelchairs
