For my money one of the last unspoiled original bars in Consett. Its cleaner and tidier than it's ever been and still packing them in on a weekend with the live music.I've been drinking here for years, great down to earth place with great down to earth people.They also do wonderful food, cooked on the premises by the landlady and very tasty it is too.
I called by their with my mother and my youger brother the ice cream section had a nice variety of flavours and i chose two scoops of the bubble gum flavoured ice cream and had a glass of Diet coke the service was excellent

My ma used to be a barmaid 1968 ish.. Betty, I used to go there after school meet ma da who was a down the pits (sadly passed away). Ma mum is still going though in Dumfries.. I loved Consett, first time I wore a midi skirt.. (and nooo am not old) :) Ilene
