what a smashing Breakfast and we would like to thank Sam and her Lovely Team. The vegetarian Breakfast was spot on and the Quorn Sausages were cooked to Perfection and i really would like a huge pat on the back be given to the Chef please. Toast was done to 100% and The Domestics really do work so hard as we had been in the night before for our late Tea and the place you could see had been so busy But Those Hard working Domestic Ladies brought The Hungry Horse back up to Gleaming so Sam again could you pass on our thanks. Great Value for Money and Huge Portions, Happy new Year to you all and Thank You again.

What a wonderful Christmas lunch we had the staff were great. We had a mix of dietary requirements but they accomplish all of them. A few minor hiccups but all in all ok.

Visited today with my daughters who I have travelled to Darlington to see. Had the Christmas set meal and the food was excellent and delicious and atmosphere was great. We were served and looked after by an exceptional and welcoming member of staff who was so friendly and helpful. Thank you to the lovely Megan for your great work.

As a family we come to Darlington each year for the pantomime and always stop in the Premier inn and have drinks in the woollen mill. This year we had food in the woollen mill and I was impressed at how nice a chain pubs fish and chips could be. The staff are always great and are very accommodating.

Have been several times, and it's always what you'd expect from a chain pub - value for money, decent surroundings, friendly staff. They've usually ran out of something, but not quite like this evening. Six of us met for food and drinks before Christmas. Some chose food from the regular menu, some from the festive one. Or at least we tried to! Let me see if I can remember what they didn't have.... No Stella lager No real ale No Christmas dinner (seriously?!) No sea bass No cheesecake No spoons! I heard the bar staff saying they were also running out of wine glasses as well! It didn't ruin our evening, as the food and drinks were all good and reasonably priced. Service was friendly and surprisingly quick (one of our starters arrived before I'd got back to the table!). James, behind the bar, was doing a grand job and was chatty and deserves a special mention. We'll be back as it's convenient, and like I said, you know what you're going to get (well, if they haven't ran out of it, that is!)

We visited for breakfast with Santa, 3 year old loved the experience. Food was very good, staff were excellent and friendly and Santa was very engaging and patient with the children. Tables were decorated lovely and we will book for a return visit next year for breakfast with Santa. Overall highly recommend for value and experience.

We've been coming here as out local for over three years. Staff are excellent, very friendly and welcoming. Food is good value for money and lots of choice. Menu has changed a few times which made a nice change. Breakfasts good too, plus roasts at the weekend are a bargain. It's classic pub vibes!

Been coming here for 4 years now, always a greeting on entry, food is pretty good value (cheap and cheerful I'd say!) - food came particularly quickly this past weekend. Always drinks deals on, especially with the app during the football, lovely staff. You know what you're getting with a hungry horse but fully recommend if you're on the area

Popped here today with my partner for lunch and her younger sister We were seated at two tables number 14 & 21 I ordered steak and ale pie which was nice My partner ordered gammon which came out stone cold and had to be sent back and reheated And the youngest sister had an all day breakfast where she ate about a quarter as it didn’t looked cooked properly. Bacon looked under cooked and just shot on the plate The place was cluttered with mess on most tables We have been coming here for the last five years but have now decided not to bother anymore As food is only basic now and they don’t seem to care about the place which was once a nice place to eat
