The Old Yard Tapas Bar
98 Bondgate, DarlingtonFood was tasty, service was friendly but a little patchy (the server who brought out our dishes called a number of them by the wrong names, and one of the dishes may have been entirely wrong since we ordered pork, they said it was beef, we asked for clarification and they didn't know, and we couldn't tell the difference), setting was dimly lit and extremely loud on a Saturday afternoon due to multiple big groups seated nearby - it would help if there were more curtains/soft furnishings etc to dampen the noise. Not a good spot for a quiet/intimate meal.

Estabulo Rodizio Bar & Grill - Darlington
9 Feethams, DarlingtonI got dragged here in part as a birthday gift, and as the only person a certain someone knows who appreciates good food.I went in nervous, knowing this would be a meat centered establishment and having a certain way of ordering food. But since the one taking me there had been before, it wasn't too bad.I got the fish platter as I'm not really a meat person much. Which was quite nice minus the cod bites being a bit too bland for my liking. And I nicked a bit of meat to nibble on from my other. And it was actually really good. The meats are clearly well cooked and seasoned. But the real reason I want to go back is for the salad bar. Like I said, I'm not a meat person and went in knowing next to nothing about the place. I honestly spent a lot of my time going back to the salad bar to try out and enjoy the stuff from there. The sauces are delicious and the veg and other stuff were all nice. I didn't know what a peppercorn sauce was before I tried it and now it randomly pops up in my mind now and then. The way the skewer of meat is brought round to each of the tables so it's portioned out is really cool. And makes it easier to try and sample everything of interest while resting between bites. Definitely a more than onne experience for more fun.Only thing about the system is that I feel nervous getting up to go to the bathroom or salad bar as I worry about getting the way of the staff. But that could just be a me problem.

Tomahawk Steakhouse Darlington
Unit 6 Feethams, DarlingtonYou can't go wrong with a Tomahawk! Food is delicious and there is a great variety. I had the parmo croquettes and the wagyu burger. The early bird menu is something like two courses for 15 which going off the prices on the normal menu is amazing value for money. The multistorey car park is across the road so perfect if your driving over. This was my first time going at a lunch time and it was nice and quiet with a relaxed atmosphere. I'd definitely go again, if not just for the Stilton and bacon sauce ??

Small but spacious restaurant, nicely decorated, bit chilly ( I had to keep my shawl on), Good menu selections ( apart from desert), I had bao bun ( yummy) sea bass ( yummy) vegetables and ice cream( ok-just average tasting). The prosecco was really nice. My husband had corn cakes ( ok) , tofu stir fry ( yummy) and banana fritters ( nice). The coffee was not good at all. Falafel Fella
1 Clark's Yard, DarlingtonThe most fabulous falafel in town. I saw a review that rated them 3/5 purely due to them no longer being able to offer deliveries, what a shame, they’re a great bunch, a real success story and they’re pivoting their business to survive tough trading conditions. Gorgeous freshly made tasty traditional food. Served with a smile! Always happy when I see their distinct red tent and smart branding at a festival or event. It’s also such good value for money, and a real gem to discover in Darlington’s foodie scene.

Bambudda Darlington
Gladstone St, DarlingtonIt is so nice to have an East Asian styled place to eat at again. The atmosphere is great with how lovely the decor is. The staff are friendly and helpful. And the best bit is the food.I've only really experienced the all-you-can-eat menu so I can't speak for the dishes not on there, but everything is so delicious and flavorful! (The salt and pepper ribs are a memorable highlight. Can never get enough of those.) And the servings are so nicely sized that it means you can attempt to sample quite a bit of the menu on your visit with minimal amount of waste possible. The cocktails are also fun and the desert menu has some lovely choices. It's wonderful going here with family and friends whenever can. If I could I'd be there on the regular. There's just not many places in Darlo that reach my expectation of such good food.It is well worth the price in my opinion.Vegetarian options: For the all-you-can-eat menu, around half of the menu options are vegetarian or vegan. Which include high in veggies options and some mock meats for certain dishes.

22 Duke St, DarlingtonVisited with friends on a Saturday night in September and the food and service were first class. My Madras was excellent and the wife loved her Shashlick. The restaurant has a nice ambience and the seats are possibly the most comfortable I’ve ever sat on in a restaurant. Having had a bad experience at Bombay gate due to rude staff we were looking for a new “go to” Indian and we’ve definitely found it here…imo this is the best in Darlington for food quality, ambience and service. ROYAL King of Spice
22 Yarm Rd, DarlingtonThe Munch Box Specials or Royal Box are great value and feed 2 people amply. This is the most piquant Indian takeaway I've tried. Although initially a little put off by a low food hygiene rating, the food is appetisingly presented and well cooked. Ordering mid-week, the food isn't always quite so good, but not poor. Takeaway delivery (via a food app) is prompt on most occasions. The curries are delicious although the food would appeal most to those who can tolerate a lot of hot spices. Overall good value but curries can be skimpy in the amount of meat they contain. Definitely a go to tandoori takeaway.

Bartlett Street Fish Shop
1 Bartlett St, DarlingtonThere's a new Sheriff in town and he lives in Bartlett Street. My brother recommended this fish shop after our previous local seemed to diversify into other products. Friendly welcome as my brother's lightly battered large, and my 'drown it in batter' large was prepared. Friendly chatting with likeminded patrons waiting for freshly prepared requests. Time flew by, as we said our farewells with wrapped dinner to go. Bruv had the curry sauce, which was nice, I admit to trying supermarket mushy peas from various places at the moment to take back with me next week (photo.) Fish was fantastic. I will go back when I return. Bartlett Street, dix points.Parking: Street parking, next to the pavement...what else is there to say. Park Close to the shop and you don't need to walk as far.Kid-friendliness: Scraps for the big and small kids

Copper Beech Pub
Neasham Rd, DarlingtonCalled in, one adult one child for an evening meal mid-week. Was quite busy, we were asked if we had pre booked a table, and I answered no, the waitress managed to find us a table for two.Food was delivered and prepared quite quickly, so overall, it was a very efficient and speedy service. Menu prices were reasonable, too. However, the food wasn't overly great, in my opinion. They have a lovely outdoor front area, which is covered. (Didn't see out of the back). The car park was quite small and tight.Toilets weren't the cleanest, which kind of let the establishment down.
