Cafes in Durham

“My husband and I visited on a Sunday morning, he had a sausage sandwich and I had bacon. Although we visit Durham regularly on a Sunday morning as we live close by this was our first visit, Why had we not called in before as it is a gem of a place, clean and the staff very courteous and the food was lovely. We will be calling in again soon so that we can try the lovely scones on offer.”

“Absolutely one of my favorite brunch and breakfast places in Durham. It is so lovely. There are so many plants on the shelf which are so cute, andand the tablestables are quite clean, the staff are friendly, and efficient, and they have very nice dessert such as pistachio lemon cake slice and their egg Benedict and sandwiches are very tasty as well. However, last time I ordered pancakes here and they put too much jam or syrup, it was too sweet. And this time, the lemon ginger tea was too sour because they put too a whole ginger in it. If the stuff can be more careful when they make food, this place would be perfect.”

“Super friendly little café with great, honest, home cooked food at sensible prices. Lovely atmosphere and clean as a whistle. Loosen your waist band if you’re having the full English breakfast.Very kind lady gave me one of her green tea bags as I requested caffeine free. How generous!”

“This is a lovely place and not on Elvet bridge so you’re more likely to get a seat but without the view, lattes were lovely as was the bacon butty & much cheaper than expected, being linked to Hotel Indigo, my only complaint would be the coleslaw accompanying my cheese n onion toasy was very bland as was the tomato ?, think an establishment like this could surely make their own coleslaw?”

“I Googled 'cafes' while waiting for an appointment and this popped up.I was a little apprehensive at first given its located in VW garage but I wasn't disappointed.I wanted brekky and went for my fav, fried eggs on toast. The eggs were well basted and still soft ? & my tea was perfection. The menu appeared limited but I gather they do daily specials from what I read from other reviews. Surprisingly I really enjoyed my visit and would defo go back.”
