Turtle Bay Durham
Unit R07 The Riverwalk, DurhamWe were here for the bottomless brunch. Some of our party didn't arrive on time so we asked to delay the start of our bottomless brunch setting for 10 minute. They said yes. Carly was brilliant and the cocktails were fine. I'd say they weren't as strong as they usually were, but I have no way of knowing for sure. 25 minutes to go, they took our 'last order'. I asked for another order, but was told that we needed that time to finish our drinks. However, they did agree to let us have another order given that the drink was the same. We appreciated having the opportunity to get drinks for the full 2 hours as advertised, but would have preferred to get a normal last order. Staff were very friendly, and the bottomless brunch was good value.

Tia’s
84 Claypath, DurhamVisited at happy hour....the staff are super friendly, I ordered the potato skins, onion rose and Texas 2step. I think the happy hour portions may be slightly smaller compared to the pics in reviews.....but for this I am glad as there was more than enough and good value for money. 1st off the onion rose.....how can onion taste this good??! One of the tastiest things ive ate in a while. The ribs and chicken came out, the ribs were delicious and tender.....I thought I wouldn't eat the chicken goujons as was already full...but they surprised me how nice they were so ended up eating them all.All round great meal, definitely recommend.

Tango Durham
96 Elvet Bridge, DurhamAs a burger lover, I’m a big critic on any burgers I have. The burgers at Tango are a good portion size, and the burgers were actually soft which is uncommon in most burger restaurants. The softness of the burger was perfect as there was more flavour. The onion rings were huge, definitely fresh. Chips were okay. They have a mini bar on site and the cocktails we ordered were lovely too. Took a while to pay the bill, but saw they had a table of 10 people in. Overall really pleased with my experience here. Will be revisiting.

Rose Tree Inn
Low Rd, Shincliffe, DurhamThis is a lovely, small, and dog friendly pub in a beautiful part of Durham next to the river. The menu is fairly typical of most pubs and is well cooked and well presented. The fact that it also has a menu for dogs makes it stand out from the rest. However, we didn't find out about that until we were about to leave, which was a shame. Alishaan
50-51 North Rd, DurhamWe arrived in a busy Durham (students starting at Uni) for a meal at Alishaans. When we arrived at 5.30pm it was empty when we left it was packed out. It’s a very popular restaurant, and we can see why. Great location, smart interior, great, helpful staff and most important, the food was excellent. We had 2 courses each, a mixed platter Alishan, (tikka chicken, veg pakora, sheek kebab and a small bhuna prawn on puri) for my daughter and tandoori king prawn for me. For mains my daughter had tikka chicken Makhoni and I had the Tikka chicken Kharai. We had rice, chips, poppadoms and naan breads as sundries. All of the meal was spot on with the staff able to help with the choices. There is a sister restaurant in Sunderland too which is closer to our home but we’d have no problem visiting both. Lebaneat
47 North Bailey, DurhamMy dining experience at Lebaneat has been primarily centered around takeout student meals, providing a generous 50% discount on wraps. While I've been a consistent customer since 2021, the main drawback has been the inconsistency in meat in that sometimes it can be served raw .. The range of food here is good, with 11 options for wraps making it an attractive and affordable option for students seeking a quick meal. However, the occasional issue with undercooked meat has been a persistent concern. If this particular issue were addressed and the meat consistently cooked to satisfaction, it would undoubtedly warrant a five-star rating from me. Despite this setback, I find it a reasonably good place to grab a meal and now I get the veggie wraps to avoid experiencing raw meat again. One of my go-to choices now is the spicy lebaneat wrap and the special lebaneat wrap. Staff are pleasant and friendly. Moreover, the online ordering system for pickup is incredibly convenient, making the entire process hassle-free.

Nudo Sushi Box
The Riverwalk, 85 North Rd, DurhamWe wanted somewhere slightly off the beaten track as Durham was very busy hosting the Brass Festival. So we walked over Framwelgate Bridge into a quieter area and found Nudo. We both had a Bao bun (£4) after the lady behind the counter explained what one was by showing how she made one. We had pork char siu and aromatic duck, both with teriyaki sauce. The bun part is steamed bread and is very light. The buns were delicious. The only fault we found was that the bun is served in a small box even if you opt to eat inside and you get no cutlery (not needed with the bun) and no serviettes despite the sauce being very sticky. However the wc was available to wash hands when finished. It's more like a cafe than a restaurant. We would definitely eat here again.

1, Blue House Buildings, High St, Carrville, DurhamFor at least 17 years I've been coming here as did my parents and uncles before me.(I'm 19 now for context) I'm simple and like a good margharita pizza. Nothing fancy. Its all I need from this place. Its perfect, it will stay perfect.Staff are friendly there and remember my order and my Dad's whenever I come in. Belmont pizza house has my loyalty and I will continue to hand my money over until I die or some lunatic takes over from the brand new owner and changes the perfect formula that has been in place for years. Thankfully, I don't think that will happen as theres a fantastic new owner of the shop and he has said things shall remain the same.I am ashamed it took me this long to get around to writing the review but here it is finally.

Pizza Punks Durham
Unit 12 The Gates The Riverwalk, DurhamWent with two young kids. It was about 3pm on a Friday so very quiet but the staff were spot on, food was good although the sea salt and rosemary garlic bread was a little too salty. Pizzas were perfect though. The place during the day is ideal for small people!

Flat White Kitchen
40 Saddler St, DurhamAbsolutely one of my favorite brunch and breakfast places in Durham. It is so lovely. There are so many plants on the shelf which are so cute, andand the tablestables are quite clean, the staff are friendly, and efficient, and they have very nice dessert such as pistachio lemon cake slice and their egg Benedict and sandwiches are very tasty as well. However, last time I ordered pancakes here and they put too much jam or syrup, it was too sweet. And this time, the lemon ginger tea was too sour because they put too a whole ginger in it. If the stuff can be more careful when they make food, this place would be perfect.

Sattvic Ahara
42 Prospect Pl, Coxhoe, DurhamFirst time ordering and certainly won’t be the last. The food arrived hot, all packaged well and on time. The quality and flavour of each individual dish was amazing. Depths of flavour with quality produce used in the making. The portions were a lot bigger than expected for such a low price which I’m certainly not complaining about. One of the best meals I’ve had delivered in a long time. Happy to eat vegetarian food all the time with quality like this ?

Bells
Durham Market Place, 11, 11 Market Place, DurhamBells is easily my top 3 fish and chips place to go.The fish is crispy, freshly made, and you won’t taste much oily feel. The chips is normal.Curry sauce to me is a must add because it matches the fish and chips so well.Price for cod and chips is £10.8Curry sauce is £1.7Not particularly cheap, but cost of living, everything is expensive.I also tried their sausage, it is average, not particularly recommend. If you are in durham, this is a must try.
