Only popped in for a pint of Guinness but served Murphys which tasted just as good, my son said it was better. The bar manager/owner gave a great description of the differences between various stout. I will pop in again definitely. Did not have any food, so cannot comment.

Proper pub, friendly enough and no frills so you can relax a bit and enjoy a pint or three. Pretty good atmosphere meant we enjoyed a good night in here ?

Booked for a Sunday lunch ,there were lashings of tender roast beef, loads of fresh veggies, Roasties, giant Yorkie pud and a huge gravey boat.Best Sunday dinner in a long while. Staff were friendly and attentive.Might be the first time I've been there, but it certainly won't be the last ?

First time at the Black Bull for Sunday lunch .... Not disappointed! 1 beef, 1 pork, you get plenty of everything, cabbage, carrots, peas, mashed turnip, mashed potatoes, cauliflower, roast potatoes, good old Yorkshire pudding and real meat that was cooked to perfection, not the sliced processed plastic we've received elsewhere, lots of tasty gravy too, all for just £10.99 each. The staff were lovely and friendly, with table service and a cosy atmosphere. Thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely be going again in the future.

Great little pub in the heart of Lanchester, friendly service & good selection of ales or anything else you fancy. Proper olde pub feel with friendly locals and bar staff, bustling atmosphere and I’ve heard they do a cracking Sunday dinner. Only stayed for one as unfortunately dogs aren’t allowed indoors, but there’s an ample beer garden so will return in the warmer months.

Proper village pub with really friendly bar staff. As a real ale drinker, it was nice to have a perfect hand pulled pint of Wainwright's. Will definitely be back.
