Rooms: The rooms we clean, spacious, had drawers for clothes, hangers, tea and coffee making facilities which were drinkable, we had a bath and shower, and a king size bed.

Not dog friendly! Make you sit outside in the rain if you have a dog, no overhead canopy so soaking wet.

Stayed at the Three horse shoes inn on my way to Scotland. Great rooms clean comfortable kind size bed. Friendly welcoming staff, who were only too happy to help and check everything was ok . Food was amazing all dressing cooked home made , steak and ale pie and jerk chicken were amazing. I would highly recommend this as a place to stay and definitely a place to eat. Not for those just passing by, but anyone staying in and around Durham. Well worth the drive out to .

I had been invited to celebrate the 90th birthday of a lovely lady for whom my late Mother had been a bridesmaid in the 1950'sThis wonderful Inn establishment at Running Waters managed to cater for a party of about 16 people ( 4 of whom were young children ). This entourage , as I described it , represented the Patterson family from Sherburn down to parts of North Yorkshire. We all chose our meals in advance and there must have been at least six different Sunday lunch options to chose from. The staff were essentially young people in their 20"s. Their efficiency , kindness and patience with such a large family group was warming to witness. One of the proprietors took a Patterson team.photograph in the car park afterwards before we all went our separate ways( nice touch)I'm sure the owners would like to increase the size of their existing car parking facility however as it was barely adequate to cope with the influx of customers that know about this Inn's fine reputation.Suffice to say , I was a latecomer for an unofficial 1 pm start to this lunch but as early as 1.20pm on this Sunday afternoon , all regulation spaces were taken and furthermore , I had to leave my car teetering precariously on the final section of driveway approach to this place. Not ideal by any means and I did note that there had been a potential customer looking for another space following my car and he ended up driving off to be fed elsewhere. This observation does not in any way detract from this having been a hugely successful and entertaining Sunday lunch out. With thanks,ELLIS COXON.
