This Asda is freezing cold, adding the doors to the freezers should have helped warm the place up but the noisy tinnitus inducing cold air conditioning is on, early March 4°C outside, maybe switch off the Aircon and warm up your customers and your staff Asda ?

Terrible shop worst Asda I’ve ever been in not from the area recently moved here from Blaydon use to the one at the Metrocentre very disorganised loads of low stock for stuff staff hid baskets sometimes can never find them shopping bags they walk round with them compete joke and some staff have an attitude at the self checkOuts

the shop itself is fine and most of the staff are lovely, but the lady with the short red hair (I think her name is Sarah) spends her shifts walking around giving people dirty looks, gossiping about her coworkers and making customers feel embarrassed, nasty woman

Disable bays always full anyone uses them very few has blue badges displayed

They move customers service together with cigarettes and lottery counter which is always a massive queue if you order any shopping for collection from the store you can’t go directly to the customer service now just to said I here to collect my food order you have to stand in that big queue which is a lot of time right to the main entrance…why can’t they just use the side bit on the counter for online food collection I take 30 seconds of their time just to ring the warehouse and tell them your here for your food ……badly thought out …Asda
I visited the peterlee store on the 14th December with my partially disabled partner hoping to have the use of a scooter but although 4 where available not one was working so she relied on leaning on a trolley for our shopping even so we spent we spent 200 pounds but could have been more enjoyable

Lovely large store plenty of produce, and prices are really low.

Don't go in if you have hearing aids or sensitive ears because the alarm for the gates are terribly annoying, don't know how the staff can't stand it all day

The customer is always wrong!!I went into the cafe and saw at least 3 flies buzzing around the tables. One fly (pictured) landed on my toast so that went in the bin. The manager James (pictured) was very rude to me and made me feel like I was a liar and not welcome in the store just because I made a complaint. If you make any big purchases make sure the ink hasn't ran out of the receipt machine as the staff don't check. I was in the store 15 minutes before closing time and a member of staff very rudely told me to leave the store as they were closing soon. The stores delivery van (pictured) blocked 2 other delivery vans in with his terrible parking and things got a little bit toxic between them. I'm an ex employee who helped open the new Peterlee store over 20 years ago and it was a great place to work back then. I've also worked in the old Peterlee store and Benton in Newcastle. These days the staff seem to be working in a toxic environment as they just don't seem happy to help in general. Some of the staff seem really canny and helpful but there isn't many of them.

Security in this place always offer a good laugh.Stare at you and follow you around the entire shop and always give funny looks, if ever called out on this play stupid. Well I say play but the lights aren’t turned on with many people in peterleeI would suggest hiring proper security because the overweight dumb people you hire would only stop a person shoplifting if they sit on them.God forbid they run out because they’d be screwed.
