Good quality food although the fries I had this time around were a quite raw and could have done with some more minutes in the fryer but it didnt spoil the rest of our meal. Service was good although one of the servers who asked if we wanted any condiments went to get them and then forgot to bring them over. Overall the food and service were good and I would highly recommend eating here whilst staying at Beamish Hall.

Lovely former stable block, creatively re purposed. Booked evening dinner. Sat at assigned table, found the table surface to be sticky overall and as if the persons before had spilt odd grains of salt on it. The waiter advised no fish was available on the menu. I selected a bottle of red wine, after waiting, the waiter returned saying that type not available, therefore had to choose again. The unopened bottle of wine arrived at the table, however the waiter simply walked off leaving it.The Rolled Lamb main dish arrived, costing almost £20, it looked appetising, sadly I found throughout the layers of lamb and mash it was very bland, also due to the plate being cold upon arrival the food had mostly lost its heat. The waiter didn’t return to carry out the normal “is everything ok”?conversation. I counted 4 waiting staff and the restaurant appeared quiet, with about 8 tables in use, I won’t return.

Great night to celebrate a birthday. We all enjoyed a starter and a main meal. We were all stuffed so couldn't fit a pudding in.Service was excellent.Staff very friendlyThen sat to have a relaxing drink in bar next to fire.

Lovely location, bar/restaurant is located in the old stable block of Beamish Hall. Nice atmosphere..went for Sunday Lunch with family, we had the nut cutlet, gammon and also beef plenty vegetables and extra gravy was provided if asked for. Only downside was that the beef was more like a steak and quite tough. However staff were very nice and service was good

Sunday lunch for four people on mothering Sunday came to £105.That was for four Sunday lunches, three desserts and a drink each. The staff were very helpful, friendly and extremely polite. If they don't know an answer to something they'll gladly find out for you.The veg was spot on, the gravy was absolutely delicious and extra vegetables were provided free of charge. With several warm fires crackling and fantastic choice of vegetarian food as well as amazing cocktails we struggled to find wrong anything at all.As a treat this place was well worth a visit.Vegetarian options: You can ask for Sunday lunch with extra vegetables which is £8 cheaper.

Blonde girl on the bar - appalling - totally ignored me, didn't even say thank you/smile/please and served two people who were waiting after me. Then spent the entire afternoon glaring at us. Ordered two drinks which were eventually dumped down in front of me.We had reserved a table for a meal, but I cancelled it and we left. Seems like more negative reviews are coming up here unfortunately, which is a shame as it's a stunning building. Service always lets these places down.

We had a birthday celabratory meal 5 adults with 2 kids and it was hassle free. Best beef roast I've had in a restaurant for a while! Cooked to perfection and so soft! Coffee was good too. Only niggle.. we like our gravy a tad thicker and bit more flavour but roasties and mash were spot on. Service was attentive and faultless. Location is beautiful and we often visit in summer for walks!Wheelchair accessibility: My dad found it easy to access with a wheelchair and good parking spaces and plenty of them! We came early for 12am..

The food tastes great however I am a slim lady and came away feeling hungry . I had a main course and desert. The portions were very small. The roast potatoes were absolutely tiny and they gave you two which was literally just a mouthful.. the dessert I ordered was sticky, toffee pudding with ice cream. Ice cream was a mouthful and a sticky toffee pudding cut was no bigger than a cream cracker. And very thin for £8:50 that’s terrible value.

Food took absolutely ages. Table was booked for 2pm. Still hadn't had deserts come 4pm so chased them up twice! I would understand if it was busy but it was a lunchtime and it was really quiet. Asked for a highchair twice, none was brought so in the end went and found one myself and carried to table. Very expensive for what it is aswel. Wouldn't recommend.

I was treated to afternoon tea here at the Stables Bar and Restaurant. It was just delicious . I had the vegan afternoon tea and there was 3 sandwiches, a sausage roll , 3 cakes and 2 scones with jam and clotted cream. A coffee pot to myself and we all enjoyed what we had.It was December and so it all was very festive. Hope to go again one day.
