This pub need to be closed, iam not sure what they are trying to achieve by charging extortionate amounts of money for unnamed brands of alcohol. They don't take card or apple pay, no one carries cash about anymore.... your not allowed anything like a phone and your not allowed to sing because they don't have a music licence.... If this pub was taken over by an actual decent brewery that served named brands and decent food it would literally be a gold mine...

Great place. Great beer. They do have a card machine and plenty of space for kids to run around (take a football).

Called in as driving past. Sunday roast was delicious and a very good plate full. Left feeling comfortably full. Nice beer and a good cup of coffee to finish. Excellent value for money. Would definitely recommend. Friendly staff too.

The only thing holding this pub back from being excellent was the lack of card payments. Thankfully, they've now started accepting card! Parmos and beer are excellent, highly recommended if you're in the area.

Decent pub, good selection of beers (there are no brands. It's all Sam Smith drinks). They have a fantastic pint of stout.Prices are very reasonable, especially compared to country pubs in the area. It's very much got the feel of a "locals" pub, but it's friendly at the same time and you don't feel like you're intruding.Don't come here if you want to be entertained by music, pokey machines, etc. You make your entertainment here by talking to punters and the staff. It's a digital detox pub (meaning no phones allowed) although I don't always see this being enforced. I personally like the idea of going somewhere where people are forced for a short period of their day to actually look at people's faces rather than everyone looking at their screens, but I get that some people don't like that. If you don't like that, don't come here and then give it a 1 star review because you couldn't use Instagram inside. You know what it is, and it is what it is. (Also, no swearing is allowed - though I've not seen whether this has been enforced as I've never encountered anyone swearing inside!) If you need to swear loudly, expect to be told to stop.Normally very quiet inside, which again, suits me, but won't suit everyone. Occasionally you'll get a football team come in after their game who can make it relatively lively, but all-in-all, it's very quiet and peaceful inside, and at times you could practically hear a pin drop. Again, know what it is before you come, and if you do come and it's too quiet FOR YOU, don't give a 1 star review saying it's too quiet. People are going there for the peaceful nature of the place. If you need loud music and loud memories, this isn't the place for you. There were some reviews saying they don't accept card payments. I don't know when that was, but they certainly do accept card payments now. I only ever use card in there. In all, it's a nice pub. It's functional, it's [usually] quiet, and importantly, it's civilised. The star drops down to 4 stars because of inconsistencies in enforcing the widely advertised digital device ban, and because occasionally I like a wine, and here it's literally "red" or "white" - if in stock (but again, people come here for the beer rather than the wine, so maybe that's being unfair).
