Nellie's is a Sam Smiths pub so be prepared for the rules: no mobiles, no music no tvs etc. On the plus side it has gas lights and a very 1910 vibe. Cheap beer Nellie's is best known for its small cosy rooms, fires and gas lighting.

One of my favourite pubs, known locally as 'Nellie's'Give yourself a moment as you enter for your eyes to adjust to the lighting.Great value drinks and a wonderful atmosphere, it's a pity that I live so far away!

Old world traditional pub, comfy, inviting and great for talking to people you've never even met. Staff are very friendly and polite.

Good bar man was welcoming and interesting clientele. One of the beers I did not like but the stout was very good. One peculiar thing though and please note if you are not a resident of Beverly mobile phones are not allowed to be used on the

I'd forgotten quite how good old brewery bitter is. And very reasonably priced too. If you've never been you must visit, it's unique.

Historical building and environment typifies old English pub. A little more enthusiasm from staff would enhance the experience.
No use of personal tech and or mobile devices allowed, good beer and conversation only; a truly traditional pub.

From one of the Yorkshire's best kept secrets, 'Nellies' of Beverley is ruined by an overbearing landlady fixated by rules from no digital devices at all to no children (even well behaved teenager's with family). Believe me, these rules are zealously enforced with an army of surveillance cameras keeping check on every room. This once family friendly famous ancient coaching Inn (a jewel of Samuel Smith's brewery in the North) is a quiet, sterile, unwelcoming shadow of its former self. A great shame but best avoided.Kid-friendliness: New rule. zero tolerance for kids. A shame as I enjoyed the ambience of the place with my dad as a kid myself back in the 1980s.

Good pub. Limited to Sam Smith's beer, but good traditional bar. Atmospheric
