I very, very rarely leave a 1* review on here, but here is one. How this place gets to display a 5* Food Hygiene Rating if it's always like this, I will never know. This is a review for the takeaway, not the dine in restaurant. After placing the order with a rather dour and 'portly' person wearing a grubby white apron (at least I think it SHOULD have been white - once upon a time), I waited around after being deprived of and paying around nineteen quid for two portions of fish and chips. There was a white (at least I think it SHOULD have been white) table near the door with napkins and salt and vinegar containers and some small sachets (pepper etc I think). It was utterly disgusting - vinegar covering the table top and the salt containers etc. The shakers were really greasy and horrible and I had to wipe them down before handling them and pick them up using a napkin. Surely the staff must have seen how bad it looked by peering over the 'range'?? Eventually after listening to a lad in a blue shirt, with specs and a tache sneezing in the back room, the order was finally served. If the 'front of house' is as bad as this, it makes me wonder what it's like away from the public gaze. What a truly horrible, grim place this was.

I have previously loved this place (West Steet shop), but this time was terrible. New, stresssd out, miserable staff. Long wait and queue. The fish was undercooked and not cooked hot enough as it was pale and soggy. The underside was white and I blotted 5 napkins which went completely yellow. Even the top of the fish was soggy with not a single bit of crispy batter. Very disappointing as this used to be my favourite in Bridlington.

Went with my father today. We both had regular fish and chips and a tea and coffee. Food was excellent. Definitely some of the best fish and chips either of us have had and we've had a lot! Service also very good and the restaurant was clean. Definitely will revisit if we go back to Bridlington.

Pleasant staff, prompt service.Clean and tidy.Out door seating. Dog friendly outside.Pleasantly surprised as the fish was skinned which is brilliant as the skin is not my favourite.

We called here yesterday as our usual fish and chip shop, just around the corner, was closed for some reason, although the signage outside the shop showed the current opening times and it should have been open? Anyway, we called here instead. The shop was empty when we visited and, because they cook to order, we did have a little wait but it was an acceptable amount of time. However, the chips were quite soggy (some were not fully cooked) and the fish was greasy with thin soggy batter and not very nice at all. We were not sure what the fish was because it was quite tasteless. On a positive the curry sauce was nice but we will give this place a miss should our usual place be closed (formerly Wards). This is the second time we have bought from here and both times the fish and chips weren’t very nice.

We had a very nice meal the chips were excellent as was their fish and sausages. The service was excellent all at a very good price. Well done. this is somewhere we would definitely come again.

Abysmal, overpriced, fish and chips. Congealed, fat saturated batter, on overcooked fish. Warm, soggy, chips covered in manky black bits. Dried up mushy peas that tasted like they’d been reheated for a week

£3.30 for a bag of chips!! We had a cup butty and it cost us over £4.00!! 15 chips and a stale bread roll covered in cheap margarine!! Absolute money making rob dogs! There's Pirates at Brid and this lot are them!!!

First time going in for takeaway. Friendly staff, haddock tastes great. Got sausage and chips for daughter and she's eaten most of it. Reasonable prices too.

It certainly deserves the title Busy! On arrival some diners complained of waiting times. Felt sympathy with counter waitress who had to split her duties between taking orders & food preparation. Around 20 mins wait not unreasonable considering the pressure staff were under. Fish & chips were best I'd had in ages. My partner said the same about her burger. This restaurant/takeaway will always be busy & deserves to thrive. It's well worth the wait at peak times!
