We really like it here. Ideally we enjoy sitting outside with the lovely countryside location on offer. A great place to pop in for a bite to eat or a snack. It's really peaceful here. Dogs are allowed in the outside areas. Good portions and nice choice of cakes on offer. My boyfriend and I love to pop in here for a jacket potato and a coffee.

We have visited here many times and always enjoyed the lovely food . On our previous visit we discovered that Sunday lunch was now available so thought we would try . Unfortunately, it was not the usual standard . Beef was dry, turkey was nice , but the parsnips were very well done , carrots were particularly raw and roast potatoes were well done on the outside but under cooked inside . We were very disappointed. Service very slow today as very busy .We were not asked once if we had enjoyed our food . Sorry won’t be returning on a Sunday .

Rang this week and spoke to a really nice lady as wanted to check the cafe was dog friendly. Was told it was. Today we arrived with a small dog and entered to be told by a waiter that he would be back shortly. He did come back after laughing with colleagues in the kitchen. He took one look at us and told us abruptly “you can not bring that dog in here it is outside only”. Not “hello I am afraid dogs can just sit on the terrace outside”. He then gave us two menus and barked “can you bring them back in with you!”. He was rude, abrupt and not at all friendly. We were about to order four meals and drinks but thought due to his attitude and very apparent lack of customer service we left and went elsewhere where we were made to feel very welcome. We won’t be back because of him which is a shame as the food looked so nice. Maybe he needs to work behind the scenes and not front of house! His attitude would curdle cream!

A great find, attractive surroundings to enjoy lunch. The soup was full of flavour, potato, leek and parsnip was the soup of the day. We followed with a lovely slice of chocolate cake which was a generous portion, it was moist and definitely moreish. The price was great and our male waiter was attentive and very efficient. Will definitely be back.

Parking: Small area so first come, first serve so get in earlyWheelchair accessibility: It is not wheelchsire friendly. There are steps to get into the restaurant, and the tables are close together.
