The pub sign on the roadside might make you think that the Hope & Anchor had ceased trading about ten years previously. Maybe that's on purpose, as it's always good to be able to surpass expectations. Once inside, the pub has a lot to offer. It's comfortable, with friendly service and has a good choice at the bar. Food has always been great and the view at the rear, across the Humber into Lincolnshire is superb. Peaceful and relaxing pub. Especially good outside when the sun shines.
We visited on NYE, with our friends and neighbours, 3 had Fish and chips and one had the Chicken Tikka Masala, it was all freshly cooked, well presented and great value for money, top tip…..go hungry ?!

This lovely pub is a diamond in the rough. The staff were attentive, friendly and gave great service overall and throughout. The place had a great atmosphere with a mixture in the afternoon of all ages and groups. The food was fantastic, especially the homemade Wensleydale quiche which was delicious. Followed by the very generous portion size of Sticky Toffee Pudding. Would definitely recommended and would love to return if I’m in the area again!
