Booked a table for 2 at 6pm...we went at 5:30 and was told we could go to our table straight away, no bother at all. We had pizza and pasta and it was absolutely beautiful!!! The staff were very attentive, welcoming and went above and beyond!!Thank you so much!!! You made my evening! X

This place is amazing! Exceptional quality food and wine. We had the most delicious seafood starter, steak cooked to perfection finished with delicious Italian desert. Relaxed atmosphere, feels like you’re on holiday. Excellent service from our “mad Italian” and the team. Thankyou

Cannot fault a single thing!The food is always incredible, authentic and full of flavour. I don’t even need to ask for a dish, I just tell the owner I’m a vegetarian and he takes care of the rest. Two occasions I’ve done the same, the first we received a creamy, rich white sauce pasta full of vegetables and I thought it couldn’t get better than that. The second time I did the same, asked for a veggie dish, and received an exquisite tomato pasta, creamy and delicious. Also not a huge fan of cheese on my pizzas so asked for a tomato garlic bread both times and it did not disappoint, the best pizza dough I’ve tasted. I have dreams about this food, it’s so good! I have recommended The Mad Italian to so many people, it’s my favourite Italian place EVER.Vegetarian options: Veggie pastas and pizzas, just ask!

First visit here and didn't disappoint,the food is top class and the staff are very welcoming. We shared a brushcetta and then ordered steak and chips and a beef stroganoff. Both were outstanding, in fact probably the best steak I've ever had. All washed down with lovely wine and ice cold beer. Was looked after very well by the lovely lady at the front of the restaurant.

As always, fantastic food and service. We could not have hoped for more to make my mother's 90th birthday special. Luciano and his staff could not have been more accommodating. Luciano created a vegetarian meal for my sister, based on what ingredients she wanted, which I thought was exceptional service and delighted my sister. Luciano remembered my mother and her palate, who also showed how much she enjoyed the meal by how much she ate (normally, very little). We have eaten at the restaurant several times and never had a poor experience, from coffee outside in the summer to lunchtime meals. My sister ate with her friends in the evening and had a great time. We could not recommend this delightful restaurant more highly.

Great little venue. Atmosphere and service were spot on. Nice selection of wines as well. If you like Italian food you will struggle to find a place more authentic in the area.

An odd encounter. Sunday a trip to Hessle for an appointment and needed lunch. Not a fan of carvery happened on this place. A little unassuming. Don't think that! The usual stuff was excellent. What stood out was the service the food and the wine. I have never eaten such amazing seafood linguine the prawns were huge. This is the prawn starter.

Visited here for the first time and had the lunchtime special menu of pizza or pasta, and a drink. I had the Parma ham pizza which was absolutely delicious, and a very palatable glass of red wine. £10 in total. Excellent value and I’ll definitely go again. Highly recommended!

Impromptu visit to this place whilst on business in Hull. What a find! Simple yet fun decor inside, genuine Italian guy owner and chef with quite a story! He cooked a whole sea bass for 2 of us to share, all food delicious and plentiful. Excellent choice of wine.
