8 The Weir, HessleThis was a bit hit and miss. I arrived a little early so sat outside while waiting for my dining companion. A young lady came out to check I was OK and I was soon set up with a nice glass of red. Great service. Once my guest arrived we went in and found a table. We selected a few more dishes than we probably needed but isn't that always the way. The dishes arrived as they were ready. In general all of the dishes were good. However I found a small piece of bone in one of the meatballs which immediately stuck between my teeth. Toothpick needed. Plus the calamari could have been hotter and a bit crisper.At the end of the meal my guest ordered a coffee with cream. They didn't have any cream. I suggested they went over the road to the shop and bought some but apparently not allowed to happen.And then what really spoiled it for me. I ordered a Metaxa 7* brandy. A really good brandy. And it came in a whisky glass. We don't have any brandy glasses I was told. I know it's pedantic but sometimes things just have to be right.I've given this place 4 stars. 3.5 stars would be more realistic.

The Norland
First Ln, HessleHad a meal at the Norland with seven other friends prior to a mini trip to Amsterdam from Hull. The staff were really friendly and the food was delicious. We had the special offer of two meals for £11 so would recommend. Including drinks, each couple paid just £21.25.

40 Prestongate, HessleFood was lovely! Very nice ramen and the starter for 2 was exquisite! The atmosphere was nice and the staff very friendly. Had to wait a bit longer for my cocktail it it was quite busy on a Saturday night.

Boothferry Rd, HessleQuite a normal pub style atmosphere with plenty of room and separate areas if you have children or want to just dine in peace. The carvery is far from normal, it's brilliant the meat's are beautifully cooked and loads of flavour. There's plenty to go with it, roast potatoes, mashed potato ( with butter ) and the choice of veg it plentiful it really is excellent something for everyone and as much as you want. It's our first choice for a carvery and it won't be long before we return.Vegetarian options: Plenty to choose from.Kid-friendliness: Separate areas for kids with a play area within the dining area.Wheelchair accessibility: Good wheel chair access.

I have left reviews on other sites for Jolsha as I am blown away that we are so lucky to have this takeaway locally. My first order was placed around 8-10 years ago. I ordered a Madras, it was amazing, before I had finished it I ordered another. Yes, what? Never done that before. Next day, ordered another, next day ordered another. Next day wife had a face like a bag of spanners at the thought of eating another Indian takeaway. So had to eat something grotty while thinking about King Prawn Madras, sad day.To give a little more info I have to add that I travelled a lot in my younger years and my meal of choice was an Indian meal. We are talking about highly regarded restaurants, my favourites being in Edinburgh & Leicester. To find the calibre of the food produced by Jolsha on my doorstep is a dream come true. I can order it and eat at home without worrying that I am going to be sat next to a table with Roger and Trevor shouting about how good they are at rugger ?.Bottom line is I have ordered from here at least every fortnight (wife problems again, if I could I would have it a couple of times a week) for the last 8-10 years and never ever, not once, not even just a little bit have I been disappointed.If you are a lover of deep flavoured Indian meals, order.Wish I was Victor Kiam, I love this place so much I would give you your money back if you did not. Enjoy, no need to thank me.

10 Hull Rd, HessleBought popadoms, 2 curry’s, nan, rice, 2 pints and had a pudding for less than £50. A last minute thought to attend this curry house whilst staying locally for a few nights. We can honestly say it was one of the best decisions we made. The meal was set made quickly, everything was cooked the perfection and very tasty. Should we be close again, it will be our first thought for a meal out.

She thoroughly enjoyed it.Wheelchair accessibility: Kate was super helpful today, our Mum is in a wheelchair, the main entrance is wider than a normal door and you can easily get through with a wheelchair.The space inside is well thought out, and easily accessible to wheelchair users.

27 The Weir, Hull, HessleThis is hands down the best takeaway in the area. I travel from Brough for the food that is ALWAYS to a great standard. Tastes amazing. I haven’t had a takeaway from anywhere in the west hull villages that even comes close to this!The fillet steak and chips are to die for and the cheesy garlic bread is the closest thing to perfect you could ask for from a takeaway. Highly recommend this place if you know good food

And don't let the word "Fish Finger"" sandwich fool you, these are not the breaded frozen food ones, they are better describes as, well lets just say "delicious battered fish", forget and banish the thought of the "frozen fish finger", but don't take my word for it, I highly recommend you try any of the food here made on site by them for yourself, you will not be disappointed.. I have been going here for several years now and will continue to do so. All of the staff are always friendly, polite and happy to serve you, I could not ask for anything more. Delicious hot food and service that is second to none.

1-3 Swinegate, HessleJust like to say a big thank you to the staff at domino's hessle. Paid online for it, then completely forgot AND paid the driver! Rang me back withing an hour or so telling me I'd paid twice and delivered my money back to me. Honest and kind people still exist!

Luciano's The mad Italian
52 Hull Rd, HessleAs always, fantastic food and service. We could not have hoped for more to make my mother's 90th birthday special. Luciano and his staff could not have been more accommodating. Luciano created a vegetarian meal for my sister, based on what ingredients she wanted, which I thought was exceptional service and delighted my sister. Luciano remembered my mother and her palate, who also showed how much she enjoyed the meal by how much she ate (normally, very little). We have eaten at the restaurant several times and never had a poor experience, from coffee outside in the summer to lunchtime meals. My sister ate with her friends in the evening and had a great time. We could not recommend this delightful restaurant more highly.

55 Prestongate, HessleWe love this place! Great selection of beers and cider on tap but also a fab collection of cans, we like to try different ones and often have a Saturday afternoon taste test! The staff are super friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. We often end up stood at the bar just chatting to people. There is also a good selection of games plus it's dog and child friendly.
