My wife booked us in for a party of 22 for my 50th. Thank you so much to all of the staff at The Hearth for making it a really relaxed, enjoyable lunch. Lovely friendly staff, great relaxed atmosphere and the excellent food was enjoyed by all (even my fussy parents).

We went the Hearth for lunch and ordered some small plates so we could try a bit of everything. The food came very quick and the service was great. The food was delicious and did not disappoint. Highly recommend! Will be back to try something else on the menu.

Came here for Mother's day with the in-laws. We had to wait over an hour for our starters but the food was fantastic, the best Sunday roast I have ever had and to say they were busy nothing was over or under cooked or under or over seasoned. They had the perfect number of staff to cater to everyone and all of the staff are brilliant. Will definitely be back.

We enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch in this buzzing, popular restaurant. This was the first time to Hearth after hearing good things and seeing the positive reviews. It was also a nostalgia trip, being an avid diner in Studio 101/2 cafe back in the 90s when a student at the Art College in Hull in my youth. The restaurant has a simple, stylish interior and is a pleasant environment to dine. It also appears very well organised and had an abundance of service staff. We were seated in the upstairs restaurant seated opposite the open kitchen. The service was attentive from the staff for ordering and checking on drinks, but the main course food service was fairly slow.We decided on 2 courses and waited 45 minutes after ordering for our mains, which did seem too long. Desserts arrived much quicker, within 10 minutes The food quality is very good homestyle rustic comfort food (which seems to be the new bar set for Michelin guide rated food these days...as home cooked food becomes less the norm of society).Portions are generous, and Sunday lunch trimmings are plentiful. A special note for the meatloaf style sage and onion 'pudding', which was deemed 'excellent'and the roast potatoes were perfectly crisp outside and fluffy inside. The only disappointment was the over seasoning of the food, as all savoury courses and gravy did seem VERY salty. We would have preferred a less salty taste and felt thirsty for several hours after eating. Also, identifying allergies or dietary requirements was not determined upfront by staff, when ordering or any mention. For example, one fish main course arrived at the table with a gravy already poured over the (enormous) yorkshire pudding, and we had to query with the waitress if the gravy was meat free. Which was confirmed.Desserts were excellent, with interesting menu choices, and, again, generous portions. We would return, as the overall experience was enjoyable, but maybe to try the evening menu next time..

Amazing! From beginning to end the whole experience was fantastic, I came for my mums birthday and 4 of us had the tasting menu it was varied in dishes and super delicious. The staff were super friendly and warm, great atmosphere and I even met the doggo who was utterly gorgeous! This place is a gem and absolutely worth every penny. I can’t wait to return for their Sunday lunch. Thank you ??

What a beautiful Quaint place situated in Hull's Old Town right near the Trinity Church.I would describe this place as Artisan. Very bohemian interior with a gentle atmosphere. The menu can change daily but there is a good choice range including specials. It is meant to be a sharing/tapas place, however we decided to go for individual plates for ourselves as to be perfectly honest, it was too good to share.Don't be put off by the prices as it is worth it for the quality and taste of the food you are getting. The flavours are beautifully combined and very tasty. The potato poems were lush, lathered in truffle, parmesan and a dressing. Very moreish. My friend even wanted the recipe for the sauce to the Scotch egg it was that good. The service were outstanding, especially having to deal with 11 of us. The kitchen stayed open due to us being delayed by traffic. (Hull and its terrible road system, didn't help). We were so grateful for them to do this and the service from Chris especially was second to none. His service was 5* and a true credit to the establishment. All in all, highly recommended a visit. Plus there are some wonderful deserts and fresh bread to take home with you.

Lovely breakfast apart from the breadcake being burnt . Too long in the toaster?. Their bakery is excellent. The sourdough loaves are the best iv tasted. Will definitely be going again.
