This has to be possibly the worst cooplands in the country. The staff are very rude and unhelpful. Went in a few weeks ago and asked for a fresh sandwich to be made. "We don't make them, you'll have to choose off the shelf". Must be the only sandwich shop I've found that doesn't make sandwiches, I bought one off the shelf as I was hungry and Pocklington doesn't exactly have much choice of food shops like this. Went in again yesterday, waited for the 2 people in front of me to be served, to find when it was my turn, I had somehow managed to turn completely invisible, and people who walked in after me were getting served first. When I said something I got told to wait at the back of the line when at least another 4 people had walked in after me. Absolutely disgraceful. When trying to talk to the manager on the phone asking for the area managers phone number the lady spoke over me so I couldn't finish my sentences. I've never experienced anything like this in my life. The staff need either replacing or retraining in customer service

Friendly staff and £3.40 for large sausage sandwich including white Americano! Basic, but amazing value compared to most outlets these days. Pocklington town centre lovely too. Market every Tuesday.

Worst cooplands in the area, couple of staff members not very helpful. Disappointing

My partner and I visted Couplands today as we're are visiting the area for a few days rest due busy work loads being paramedics, we popped In for a much needed cake, however due to not being able to decide stright away we asked that the two youg men be served first.....when it come to our turn to be served we were just ignored to the point it became apparent we're not going to be served. This also became very embarrassing, if you are visiting from another town I would not recommend going here

Gone down hill fast since EG Group took over. Used to be a great little store for sandwiches etc but since the take over there have been so many changes to the menus and pasties. The sausage rolls have shrunk massively but the price has doubled! The prices are often wrong or non-existent, you'll be lucky to get bread (often sold out very early) and there's never any cheese for sandwiches. Oh and watch out for bones in the pasties! NO longer a family business, now it just churns out low quality mass made food. No wonder the Manager left (smart man). The staff that work there are still all friendly but the company has gone to the dogs. Cooplands doesn't care about its customers anymore.P.S good luck if you have any dietary requirements cos there doesn't seem to be any thought or consideration taken for those people and cross contamination is rife. Spend an extra couple of quid and go to Laveracks or Whisk around the corner...far superior quality.

Stopping at Pocklington for lunch, we went to Cooplands as we've always had great experiences with their venues in various other towns. What a mistake. When it was our turn to be served, we asked for sandwiches to be made, only to be told that they only make the same sandwiches as the ones pre-packed, so we'd have to choose from those. Sounded a bit odd but we complied and as such we lost our spot in the queue, having to go back to the display fridge containing the ready-made sandwiches. We settled for some of them (not really the fillings we wanted to order, but....) and went back in the queue to pay, only to see that everyone else in front of us was having fresh sandwiches being made on request! Maybe you have to be a local to have that privilege? Poor customer service if that's the case. We voted with our feet and left without buying anything. Very disappointing.

The folk in the north don’t know how lucky they are to have cooplands. I visit this one regularly and sandwiches are made fresh (this takes time impatient people!) the bread buns are fabulous and the toffee danish are worth the drive from Wiltshire.
