Three of us visited yesterday lunchtime. We’d asked beforehand if we could have a table downstairs in the window, and whilst we were advised that couldn’t be guaranteed, we got exactly that. Great! The food was excellent. A really well selected balanced menu, with added festive choices for the time of year. The wine list is well put together and to their credit Judson’s have not dramatically increased the prices as seen in other restaurants. The Asian fish cakes were great with a perfect spiced kick and the pork loin superb. Really impressed.

Just had a Christmas lunch with a group but have to pay for 2 courses even though I only had one. I’m unable to eat more than that in one sitting. Surely I shouldn’t be penalised as I’m not a big eater! Won’t go there again!

We visited Judsons last night and on arrival we had to track a waiter down to seat us. When we ordered drinks there was confusion, we ordered a full fat Coke, when the waiter brought it over he said diet Coke but then changed his mind to full fat when we questioned it, another waiter then told us they don't do any full fat drinks. After waiting 70 minutes for our starter we asked where our food was to be told it wouldn't be long, however the waiter then came back and told us that the food had never been put through the system. Although mistakes do happen it was the attitude of the waiter that was shocking, when we said we didn't want to wait and wanted to leave he tried to charge us for our 3 drinks (one of which was wrong anyway!). When we said we wouldn't be paying he actually said we would get him in trouble and asked us not to leave. Our waiter then went and spoke yo the manager who didn't even come over to apologise, no sorry from anyone after wasting 90 minutes of our Saturday night and leaving with no food! We were in Pocklington for a weekend away and this experience totally ruined one of our nights, needless to say at 9pm we couldn't find a table elsewhere and went home with a takeaway, I would give zero stars if I could.

Visiting a friend who has moved here and had dinner here. Arrived for 2030 (booked) to be told kitchen stops serving at 2100, no big issue but should have been told prior to arriving. Great atmosphere with modern seating. Large wine choice and a good menu. Food was good for all, though wait for drinks was a little annoying so we just went to the bar ourselves

Visited the restaurant as a couple. I booked as seating area not big and were quickly shown to a nice table for two. Ethan looked after us throughout the evening and service was spot on all throughout service. Good menu choice and good drinks choice. We had 3 courses and coffee and it was all delicious. We thought it was mid priced. Not too noisy this was a Thursday, but still a good atmosphere. Thoroughly enjoyed experience and close to Arts Centre where we were visiting.

First course well presented and tasty, second course very plain and very badly presented. Quite expensive for the type of place that it was with wine £24.00 per bottle and a small lager £5.60. we overlooked a group of about 30 people that had spilled out on the street, drinking and eating food from the local takeaway. Not a nice sight when you are trying to have a relaxing meal.

We went to Judson's for the first time last night, after living nearby for two years. It will definitely not be the last time we visit. I'm glad we had booked a table as it was very busy with couples, families and groups with a buzzing atmosphere. The food was excellent- I had bacon cheeseburger and my husband the salmon, both of which were lovely. But the thing that really stood out was the service, every member of staff (all of whom seemed incredibly young) were friendly, polite and couldn't do enough to help. Adam and Milo who looked after us were both especially great. A fantastic find, and very reasonably priced too.

We had a drink here one evening and found it to be the most civilised place to drink during our stay in Pocklington. Interesting wine list and well-kept Ossett Yorkshire Blonde. So we booked dinner for a couple of nights later. Downstairs was heaving and we were shown upstairs to an empty room, but it filled up pretty quickly and was pleasantly buzzy, plus we had a nice view up the market square. Service was excellent. The food was good but not outstanding. Veg spring rolls were a little stodgy and my flatiron steak wasn't as flavourful as I'd hope. Some shredded garlicky greens were a slightly odd side for steak. A salmon portion was large and well-cooked. The wine list starts at a relatively high price but the £27 merlot we opted for was excellent.

Great pub with comfy seating and an open fire (always a winner), also seating upstairs and out the front with tasty meals served at all tables! Very nice staff! Hopefully, the lock to the mens toilet is fixed now, so I don't have to speed pee. Also, more guest ciders or Aspel on tap would make it perfect! Dog friendly if you like your four-legged Wookeys.
