Absolutely terrible experience. Fly infestation in the rooms. Had to change rooms and only in the third room was it acceptable. Killed the flies that were present, but more were back in the morning. Heating wasn’t working and reception couldn’t get it sorted.Good service in the restaurant, but would strongly advise against using the accommodation.

Went for our anniversary nice to get away somewhere quiet but close enough to York. Facilities were 1st class. What more can i say. Highly recommended ?

Nice lodge but was shabby in places. Broken kitchen cupboards and rooms were not cleaned properly. I've been in lodges that were a lot cleaner. Nice surrounds.

Love KP! Lovely lodges & well serviced. Make sure to take plenty of toilet roll as only a roll per bathroom provided and avoid the meals at the on-site bar.

The week end ( 25/9/23 - 28/8/23) was a family week end with my brother and his wife my sister and her husband and myself and my wife. The accommodation was good and the setting excellent. However the service in the bar and restaurant area was poor and inexperienced. On our first night our desserts were served with the incorrect spoons ( normal table spoon to eat a ice cream sundae) and a very small bowl of ice cream that really needed a be placed on a slightly larger plate. When these points were raised the response was muted and hesitant ! Towards the end of the night we ordered from the bar an Irish coffee and were bemused that the staff did not understand what an Irish coffee was. We explained the ingredient's and were served literally with a black coffee in a cup with some whiskey added and cream. I understand Irish coffee maybe a little specialist but it was slightly ironic that there is a presentation of spirits covering the whole of one side of the bar area on display and no body knew what and Irish coffee was. The second evening we were told the bar was shut after using it for several hours and having a good evening. When further questioned the bar steward apologised for not informing us but it seemed to me this was a reluctant apology. Earlier on in the evening ( about 10.30 ) a member of the wedding party that was taking place upstairs in the centre asked for a coffee and was informed the service was closed ! ( although the bar was still serving). This stuck me as being silly as the wedding party was still in full swing and if coffee was still available at the wedding party he was not directed or advised by the member of staff. On our final and third night we were informed by the bar staff ( a different person) that the bar would be closing soon. Although a positive move I still feel if no signs are up indicating bar opening and closing times it should be common courtesy to inform patrons of bar closure just before it actually does. Overall I feel the staff in the bar restaurant area were some what inexperienced and seemed hesitant to offer solutions to basic services. Also there did not seem to be anyone overall in charge which could have changed the dynamic of the environment. I think further training for all staff would be very helpful and providing a clear management structure would hopefully prevent and/or deal with issues as they arose. David McAnenny

4 adults and 3 children went in a 4 bedroom lodge with hot tub, it was wonderful. Had a meal in the restaurant was very good but quite expensive. The security man Ken was very helpfull and a nice person. So all in all a brilliant 5 days. We were in lodge 35 so nice and quiet.

The staff here are, for the most part, pretty miserable - be prepared to be grunted at and laughed at should you make a complaint. A smile from the staff is like gold dust here. The double rooms have two single beds pushed the together. When raised with the hotel manager we were told that as they have a zip joining the two single mattresses they count as a double. Not what you expect from nearly £200 a night. The spa... or rather: the back garden. Consists of an outdoor hot tub - don't expect it to be cleaned - and a 2 man shed sauna. Oh - and expect to pay £5 a day to enter this. Their treatment spa was booked up during our entire stay too.No Wifi at our rooms and generally lacking around the whole site. Two star overall - I was surprised at the lack of service and the underwhelming rooms for what's a mid-priced stay.Take my advice and give this one a miss!

Good accommodation, location, food etc. Let down by bar service which is geared more to golfers than hotel guests;e.g. No cocktail menu, 60 gins but no Irish Coffee, reception often not manned, bar staff not friendly, no notice of last orders,Rooms: Variety of rooms, all modern, clean and we'll appointed.Nearby activities: Polkington is a couple of miles away with a variety of eating and drinking placesWalkability: Lots of walking trails around the propertyFood & drinks: Better food and drink at cheaper prices in local village.

Stopped in for an afternoon bite, the lunch menu read well., however only other than the Worthingtons been deliciously smooth in contrast to the service. We ordered sandwiches which were slightly over priced especially when you need to add your sides I.e chips for an extra £3.50. The food arrived in good time, unlike the cutlery and condiments, after I asked for them them the waiter took sometime to deliver them, we were sat without cutlery an unable to eat our food for at least 10 minutes, which meant it went cold. This place has so much potential however need to train their team to ensure their service improves as we received no apology for the wait. If your team interacted with guests on any level would have made this experience a lot better.

I recently stayed at the Kilnwick Percy resort and golf course. While the golf course was amazing and well-maintained, there were several areas that needed improvement with the accommodation and location. The resort's one-way system wasn't consistently followed by staff in buggies, and the roads had large potholes. I feel the staff should follow the same rules guests are expected to obey. Lodge 4 felt dated compared to others seen at the resort. Maintenance issues like a faulty back door/bathroom doors, unclean windows, and minor damages were present, I feel these should be addressed to make the guest experience better especially when a damage deposit is required on arrival. The lodge itself was too hot, but staff provided fans promptly, however this still didn’t fix the heat issue. Advertised local Food services weren't available, please update your lists in the lodges. The service at the restaurant on site (glass house) was slow, taking us 3hrs to have a 2 course meal for 6 adults and 1 child, however the food was good when it finally arrived. The takeaway service from glasshouse was efficient, which was used in-light of the local services being unavailable. On the positive side, the resort allowed dogs and was very accommodating, leaving a welcome pack for your 4 legged friend and provided a travel cot with a mattress for our baby a service that wasn’t expected when reading the booking information. The resort should address maintenance, communication, and facilities to enhance the guest experience. All in all a positive stay however, a few issues that could be resolved leading to an outstanding resort.

We visited in August 2023 (York lodge - 4 beds). We paid £2000 for 7 nights.Sorry Darwin escapes / but you need to update your lodges - ours was dated and needs updating desperately. Such a let down for the price. No air con either. No sky TV / basic free view .The glasshouse restaurant isn’t a restaurant it’s more like a cafe. We booked for the Thursday eve steak night - the door to the terrace was open constantly, such a draft with people coming in & out.The restaurant - needs to be separated from the terrace - totally spoils it, plus the decor is dated & basic no atmospherewhatsoever felt like a bland cafe on a evening. They also need more bar / waiting staff always a queue. This site could be lovely they need to get it right - puts me off returning! Recruit an interior designer for the lodges and more staff in the bar - separate the bar from the restaurant would make such a difference.Rooms: As above

Lodge was modern and clean. It was plenty big enough for 8 of us and had a lovely hot tub. We had a couple of niggles but staff were super friendly and addressed the issues immediately, including the security guys in the evening. It has a great gym and the restaurant was lovely. Would definitely recommend ?

I stayed with my partner and we had a fantastic time! It was a really quiet resort with lovely surroundings. My partner said the golf course was really nice and enjoyed a few rounds of golf. We also really enjoyed the nature walk around the course. The lodge and hot tub were super clean. The only thing to mention would be that there was a few areas of maintenance that needed attention in the lodge, for example marks on the flooring and issue with the shower but that didn’t affect the enjoyment of our stay at all and we will definitely be back!
