It was recommended to me a few times so I went to try it. I am sorry to say that I didn't really like it. Chips didn't taste as normal and the fish was dripping grease. I actually went back some days later to give it another try just in case but it was the same experience. The service was lovely but the food isn't for my taste.

I am a resident in Withernsea and I regard this fish and chip shop as arguably the best in the town. As of yet I have never had a bad meal, everything is freshly cooked and great taste. Staff are friendly and yes they occasionally make the odd error so check your order but we are all human.

When we stay in Withernsea we always have Fish and Chips from the Golden Haddock, they are constantly the best in town. Freshly fried fish, chunky chips and mushy peas, never fail to hit the spot. Brilliant every time

This is the very best chippie in Withernsea and we have a few, none are better, gorgeous fish chips peas, home made I call them fish cakes fish in between two slices of potatoes battered fried like I use to have as a kid 60 years ago, we are lucky to have this family run fish and chip shop in Withernsea. ? ❤️ ?

Nice, chippy by seaside in Withernsea. Its one of the better ones I've tried over the years. Portion sizes were good, we only got medium fish and was more tha. Enough. Staff were friendly enough, maybe smile more but otherwise can't fault the place.

Spot on. Lovely fresh haddock in just the right amount of batter, all booked to order.

Stopped in here on Sunday evening because we were starving on the way home to Manchester, ordered fish chips curry and peas… have to say it was probably one of THE BEST FISH AND CHIPS I’VE EVER EATEN!!! Chips were cooked perfectly nice and soft but crispy on outside. The fish was flakey delicious heaven!! Curry sauce was moreish and peas were perfect consistency! Staff were kind and friendly!! Wish it was closer to home so I could eat there again!

Fantastic chippy! I had such a lovely meal here that I wanted to go back before our little trip away ended! Unfortunately I didn’t get the chance too, but if I ever return to Withernsea, the Golden Haddock is where I would go for food! Very tasty food at perfect prices! Also, very friendly staff which is a pleasant bonus these days!

Best haddock I've tasted / enjoyed in many years, friendly service, but only take-away, although there is the park and promenade only two minutes away.

Chips very dry after sitting under lamps, curry sauce very bland. Fish was also very small and dry, batter was the best part. All in all very poor quality for the price.

Was recommended this chip shop so ordered two small fish and chips. You are able to put salt and vinegar on yourself before they bag them up. 10p for a bag. Personally we were not overly impressed as the chips were soggy and we like them a bit more crispy. You can find a place to park in the side streets.
