Went yesterday and sat in the afternoon sunshine. What a gorgeous garden. Happy to have dogs and walkers.Unfortunately the food let them down a bit. We ordered nibbles and it was only when chased did they arrive. Less than a minute later our main turned up.Husband ordered the pork special and had a fantastic meal. I ordered the spicy beetroot felafel. Sadly it was pink, bland mush in a crispy outside which broke up immediately upon cutting. Looked more like a burger than a felafel. On the upside the fries were delicious. The waiter did come and apologise for the lack of arrival of the nibbles which I thought was very polite of him.

Excellent food, great ales, really good value, too (two mains and two pints for under £45, June 2024). Experience was made even better by banterous staff and an exquisite front garden to sit in, with busy sparrows fluttering everywhere.…Had a few mediocre nights out in Lewes recently; will definitely be going back to The Cricketers, next time I’m in town.

Staff welcoming, beer well kept, we only bought a snack of bowls of chips - but they were delicious and all food we saw served to others looked great.Lovely atmosphere in pub, clean and well presented. Two gardens one at rear of pub and at the front, both well kept. Parking at rear of pub. Will definitely return for a meal next time

Had a very nice Sirloin Steak this evening with an accompanying pint of Harvey’s ale. My steak was delivered to my table just as shown on the pub web site. Enjoyed the banter with the waitress, who was very attentive. Would definitely return and recommend. Derek- Seaford

Really lovely, friendly and helpful waiting/bar staff and the food is delicious and presented nicely, washed down with a Harvey's best ??I can highly recommend the pork belly starter and the liver&bacon and steak pie mains and banoffee pie, looking forward to trying some of the other dishes when we go back. The garden's pretty and there's a good pub/dining atmosphere and traditional decor inside ??Best to book as it's busy
Incredible food, impeccable Harvey’s. I’ll be back

We discovered this beautiful little gem and booked a table the day before as we planned doing the Bluebell walk, we were not disappointed. What a stunning pub which we learnt was 200 years old. It has a beautiful front garden with blossom tree and a lovely back garden. I had the beef roast dinner and my partner had the pork with the most amazing crunchy scratching. The beef I can safely say was melt in the mouth with a Gorgeous gravy 'jus' , probably the best beef I've eaten in years. It was very busy but can see why now after enjoying their food. The lady in charge was rushed off her feet but still so friendly and thoughtful telling me my food was ready when I was outside and we had a nice chat with her too. Will definitely being going back now we've found this place. 10/10!

Good pub food in a traditional English country pub setting. Harvey's is the beer and that is one of the best.
