We have visited twice in the last month for a Sunday roast. Plenty of good quality meat and a good size nut roast. 3 decent sized potatoes and good homemade yorkshires. We asked for extra vegetables and gravy which were happily provided. The staff are friendly and helpful. Other options are available if you don't want a roast. In our opinion it's the best roast locally, in both quality and amount of food. I usually cook a roast at home but as I'm currently on crutches we will be visiting more often on Sundays. Well done to all the staff, especially the chef and kitchen staff.

Not been here for years, is now a gastro pub. Food superb, we were a big party but the kitchen and waiting staff got everything out all together and piping hot. Decor very tasteful, loved the whole thing.

We went for my Mums Birthday which We had a great time the Service was fantastic and all the staff where very friendly. The food was fantastic i had the Steak which was cooked perfectly. The wine selection is also very good. If anything it just needed a couple more options in the Sparkling departnmant.. highly recommend a visit to the Blacksmiths A*

Book this for our Christmas family meal. There were 26 of us. The food was delicious, perfectly cooked, piping hot, and very generous portions all came out together, staff we're friendly and accommodating and professional first time I have eaten here we will definitely be back thank you very much for a lovely afternoon

Gastro pub it is not. Interior decor is quite wacky and looks like its been assembled from pieces of old scrap wooden pallets with bits of old garage and house doors. Very strange for a country pub. Our corner of the main bar was cold. The menu isn't extensive and all the food we ordered tasted pretty average with too much salt in my suet steak and kidney pudding making me extremely thirsty. The chips served with fish are just frozen chunky oven chips, not gastro pub triple cooked as in other similar establishments. Main courses averaged £15 - £18 which for the quality of food was expensive. Parking is limited in the small pub car park, some side street parking.

We came here for a late lunch, fortunately they opened till 3p.m. We ordered assorted appetizers and a duck salad. The food was good and the staff were friendly. There is more outdoor seating in front of the restaurant.
