87 High St, BattleA charming tearoom. Good selection of cakes, sandwich and treats. I had a cheese scone tea which was delicious, a wonderfully light and cheesy scone with cheese, pickle salad, slaw and apple, not forgetting the pot of tea. Whilst we were there they were setting up for a pre booked afternoon tea, and the care that was taken when setting and dressing the table was impressive., small details checked and re checked. I would definitely book for a girls catch up!

Blacksmiths Inn Ninfield
The Grn, Ninfield, BattleWe often go to the Blacksmiths and after our lovely roast today I just had to leave a review. Not only was the food fantastic but the service was/is the best around.
The team are all just super lovely, friendly and so professional.
We always feel welcome when we eat at the Blacksmiths and all of the staff go the extra mile! Keep up the great work guys.

Leonati Street Food
2 New Barn Farm Cottages, BattleLeo & Natli provided pizzas and canapés for our wedding reception recently. They were absolutely fantastic, great communication leading up and flexibility along the way. Then on the day so organised and prepared, they were amazing couldn’t recommend them anymore.
The food was incrediable, great choice of pizza and catered for a variety of allergies.
They are both absolutely wonderful people

The Railway
Station Approach, BattleThis is a classic case of don’t judge a book by its cover. The outside does not do the food and service justice!
A friend booked a table here to have lunch after a local walk and looking at the plastic flowers and blackboards with different colour writing we were a little put off.
We had fish pies and they were delicious! The staff were lovely too, even bringing a bowl of water over for my little dog without me even asking.
Great value too!

La Bella Napoli Italian Restaurant in Battle
23 High St, BattleGood food and excellent service. Too much garlic with the bruschetta but the calves liver and pollo funghi were excellent. Everything is served with salad which would be a bit odd with the calves liver but they produced some vegetables on request. Puddings not really worth it. Probably one of the best places to eat in Battle.

Lower Lake, BattleGreat pub. Great guinness. Lovely friendly staff. Stayed in battle for a few days and loved this pub. As a solo traveller everyone including Customers made me feel very welcome. Highlight of my trip.

Keepers Cottage/The Furnace, BattleCaroline provided us with excellent service and amazing food for a family birthday celebration for 12 of us!
From the moment I first made contact with her she was helpful, had an amazing variety of menus and when the food was served it was delicious and plentiful!
We were in an AirBnB and Caroline and her assistant, Elizabeth, were professional, friendly and made the evening such a good one!
The food was served quickly, smoothly and the standards of clearing up afterwards were first class!
I would highly recommend Caroline who is a great chef and lovely person to work with!

78 High St, BattleCalled in with THE DOG and both the humans and canine were made to feel very welcome...even a couple of gravy bones for our best friend...a very thoughtful and welcoming touch. Oh and we had the sausage sandwich made with local sausage and sour dough bread. FABULOUS.

All of the staff is really nice, and i add special mention for Melika who turned our welcome wonderful ?.

Couple of small things need a little bit of looking at . Shower wasn’t great, basin tap wouldn’t shut off properly, door hinges need some oil . But it was only for one night so it didn’t affect us . Would recommend staying here .

Claverton House Hotel Battle
Bluemans Ln, Westfield, BattleEnjoyed a lovely weekend at the Claverton hotel. The staff were welcoming, polite and very helpful. Sophie especially went out of her way to help us. The rooms are spacious, very clean and comfotrtable. We had an excellent dinner in the evening and a great breakfast....all local produce. We would definitely recommend it to others.

The Squirrel Inn
N Trade Rd, BattleWent in on spec, as we saw a sign saying 'Fish and chips 2 x £20'. It was just after 3pm. They were not serving food at that time, but they checked with the kitchen and decided they could do it for us. We had a coffee while waiting, which was a really good coffee, smooth.
The fish was in tempura batter and was real fish not just cod. Chips were from frozen, but lovely and had mushy peas. Had to take it away and eat in car as the price to eat in was £34. It was quiet, but looked like a great place with lots of atmosphere. If in area will visit again.

67 High St, BattleWhat a sensational surprise!! I can honestly say that I have never had such great fish in many many years. The batter was super fine and light, not greasy at all and the fish was absolutely delicious. Must recommend this great treat of a fish bar.

Beijing Diner Chinese Takeaway
21 Market Rd, BattleHonestly one of the nicest Chinese takeout's I have ever been to. The food is absolutely delicious and very well priced for the south of England. The people are lovely and chatty and we even got free prawn crackers! We had salt and pepper ribs, chicken chow mein, spring rolls and salt and pepper chips which were all amazing.
I can't say much about the wait times during the busy time but bare in mind it is a smaller operation with only a few members of staff, order early to avoid disappointment (or order very early and suggest a time for pickup) or go late when the rush dies down.

Battle Bakes and Cakes
65 High St, BattleAmazing place, a little cramped when you first walk in but plenty of seating and space to the back! We got a few bits to take home with us, some very creative bits and a few milkshakes. As we had to wait a little longer they gave us a a little something to say sorry for the wait, but honestly I didn't think we waited that long at all anyway!
Staff are all amazingly friendly and the baked goods are stunning!

73 High St, BattleMy first experience of Bonney’s was a nearly a year ago. Popped in to get takeaway sandwiches. Did not disappoint. Granary bread was fresh and delicious, the fillings were tasty and plentiful. It’s my go to place now for sandwiches. We’ve since been in for breakfast and lunch and every time we’ve enjoyed our food. With the weekly specials there is always something new to try. Can get busy at times but the wait is worth it. Staff are always friendly and polite. Highly recommend Bonney’s

2 High St, BattleWe enjoyed the 2 course Sunday dinner with a drink offer. We chose roast beef and lamb shank with all the trimming. Had chocolate fudge cake and ice cream and apple crumble and custard for pudding. Food was delicious, well presented, plentiful and great value for money by far the best roast away from home that we have eaten. Staff very friendly too. The King's Arms
Bexhill Rd, Ninfield, BattleCame here tonight as a group of 7 for hubbies birthday and the food and service was amazing. We pre booked our table and there was no wait. We ordered using the app and the drinks were on the table 2 minutes later. All the food came out at the same time and was fresh and hot. The staff are lovely and we will definitely be going back there again
