A very cute tea room that retains all the charm from historic Battle that you would expect and is very welcoming to dogs.

We had a very good soup and panini for lunch on Christmas Eve. Friendly staff, interesting old building. Lots of tables inside and opportunity for sitting outside in the summer

Mrs Burton is situated next to the ancient Abbey Gate in Battle. Its a medieval building with a lovely warm atmosphere very fitting in this ancient town. The cooking is top rate and so is the welcome we received. And this is the place to get the best breakfast in Battle.Parking: In the Abbey car park and two other car parks

This is pleasant enough, busy little business. We had just missed breakfast so an early lunch at 1115.I am probably out of step thinking £7.50 is a bit steep for a bowl of soup, but it is what it is.The place is open on Sunday, not much else is, and nice enough, warm out of the early winter chill

Service good, overall pricey but lovely to eat in

Prime location by the Abbey. Was going to go to a chain coffee shop, but thought we'd spend the money in a local independent place. The cup of teas was nice, the hot chocolate too sweet. We ordered a cheese and tomato toastie. £7. It was very disappointing. 2 slices of cheap white bread, 4 thin slices if tomato and a bit of cheese. Won't be going back there again.

The quality of our full English breakfast was superb.

We went here today after looking at the on line menu and thinking we would have the ploughman's and fish salad when we arrived all they were serving were overpriced panninis jacket potatoes toasted cheese and tomato sandwich all very overpriced taking advantage of it's position opposite the Abbey
The panini is probably the cheapest sandwich to make, cheapest white sliced bread and £7!! I would be embarrassed at the mark up if I ran this shop. My boyfriend ordered a ciabatta meatball sand which and a panini arrived - again extortionate prices for how cheap it all is. Plus wasp problem and slow service

Just a quick break while taking a look around Battle. Centrally positioned near the Car park, actually had a coffee-fuelled 'cream tea' we're not big tea drinkers. Good range of cakes available, though, and reasonably priced.

Lovely oldie worldy tea room. Had a cream tea even though only 10am and it was delicious. A warmed fruit scone and the tiny jars of jam and cream were enough and no wastage. Well worth a visit.

Friendly service, but very expensive for what was a pretty mean portion - £7.50 for a small panini with nothing on the side. The menu doesn’t mislead, but the food doesn’t delight either…
