Although some way from Battle we had a wonderful stay here in 1066 country. A few vineyards to sample, Battle Abbey, Hastings, Not a huge establishment (only 10 rooms as far as I could make out) but well appointed, bright and airy, with friendly, helpful staff. Excellent food. We'll be back!

Passed this hotel many times and always wanted to go there so booked a Sunday lunch, lovely setting took our drinks outside whilst we waited for lunch, bit concerned that our drinks from the menu were not available. The meal was disappointing surely providing a real burger is not too much trouble for a restaurant. Unfortunately we won't be going there again.Food & drinks: Not impressed

I was disappointed to be honest with our stay here at Claverton Hotel. We used to come here many years ago before it was extended probably about 9 / 10 years ago on the odd occasion. It unfortunately has certainly lost its personal touch when we used to stay the owner of the property used to welcome you at the door and sit you down in the front room with a cup.of tea while we decided what we wanted for breakfast and then take us to our room and made sure we knew how everything worked and that we were happy, how different a few years make. A young lad was on reception no welcome at the door just sign here your room is upstairs on the left and that was it. We decided to have a drink in their new beer garden well it's new to us I didn't dare tell my husband the price of the drinks. It was clear that the main focus now is functions and the beer garden not the bed and breakfast side. Food was nowhere near the standard we were used to here. It was ok but not the wow factor that it used to be. Unfortunately, we won't be back.

Great stay here. They have a wonderful Garden Which is great if you've got kids. Breakfast is really Tasty and service was perfect all round. Would definitely stay again if we're in the area. Would also add it's very family friendly.

I had the pleasure of staying for one night on business. The room was very comfortable and it was quiet at night so I slept very well!Food was good and accommodated gluten free requirements.There's a lovely space for private parties, an outside bar/garden space and a private suite that would suit a family with children who'd like a private garden too.Would recommend.

We stayed in the family room of the hotel for two nights in July 2023, and loved it. The hotel is clean, well-presented, and in lovely grounds. Our family room was perfect for two adults and our adult child, as there were two separate bedrooms, along with a sitting room, bathroom, and it’s own little garden. It can be accessed through either the hotel itself or, as we did because we knew we’d be out late, through the patio doors into its garden. Everything was spotlessly clean, the toiletries provided were fabulous, and the breakfasts delicious. The staff were helpful, friendly, and attentive. We wouldn’t hesitation to stay here again.

A very lovely clean old place with amazing food great service certainly would visit again and certainly would recommend that you try this lovely place out you really won't be disappointed as its also great value for your money if the rooms are as clean as the dinning area then this has to be a win win
