“Before I start, I want to make it clear that we did not eat here - we had a reservation but then couldn’t get a taxi from our camping accommodation into Battle (and we’d been drinking wine all day so couldn’t drive). Rang and left a message to cancel the table and had a return phone call from Tim to thank us for letting him know and wishing us a lovely holiday. What an incredibly nice man - we will definitely return next time we are in the area now. Based on our experience we will get a lovely warm welcome. Ps. If you are staying near Bodiam on a Saturday night and want to get anywhere in a taxi, book well in advance!”
