We decided to try the Railway Pub In Battle East Sussex it was NYE so at 1st they wernt very busy but quite a lot if people came in during our meal,as we walked in the young guy greeted us he was polite and friendly chatty and helpful, we ordered a roast from a nice menu of food and it came quickly and was very tasty with huge yorkshire puds, again when we paid the guy was friendly and chatty also we met the lady owner who also was very friendly. All in all The Railway pub was a nice experience and would def go again.

I took my children 3 and 5 years old to the breakfast with Santa. My children and myself were extremely happy with the whole experience. Christmas colouring, a visit from santas elf with singing keeping the children engaged. The breakfast was great more choice than expected pancakes for the kids with fresh fruit and full English for myself, more options were available. Santa spent time at every table talking to the children then when we had all eaten the children visited Santa to receive their gifts. There was more singing from the elf which was a wonderful end to the experience. Will be returning next year. Thank you all involved for making the whole experience so great for all.

Came here yesterday for the Santa breakfast with a friend. Was absolutely brilliant, so organised and welcoming. The waitress was excellent and nothing was too much, warm, friendly and attentive. The breakfast was amazing, delicious food. The children absolutely loved the experience, the Santa, the grotto, the elf, it was all so wonderful and personal and truly magical. A lovely place with a wonderful experience. Thank you!!!

Not sure if we caught them on a bad day comparing our experience with that of the others that have previously reviewed, but our visit today was total rubbish. We had a table of 11 booked, we had to change the booking time by 3 hours at quite late notice which they were more than happy to help with, so kudos for that, thank you.On arrival everything was fine, sat out at the back room where there was room for all of us, which again was fine as we had quite small children with us so it got us and them out of the way. We ordered our food in 3 different orders, the starters of the adults to come out the same as the mains for the kids - however some of the adults starters and mains came out at the same time, sent the roast dinner back otherwise it would have been cold by the time we’d have rushed our starters. When some of the roasts came out later on, we had to ask for two to go back into the microwave as they were barely warm, which is already annoying. We had one vegan roast, one veggie roast and a lamb. The vegan and the veggie came out identical and I had to clarify if the Yorkshire pudding on the vegan roast was actually vegan, I was told it was. Then was told they would check and came back to me saying no it wasn’t. So why put it on there? Don’t advertise something as vegan when it isn’t. It’s really annoying and to be honest massively unprofessional. One star is for moving the time of the booking and being really nice about it.One star for having a great outside area for the kids. It’s a really nice pub but I won’t be coming back.

We chose this pub to take a small break on our way to the Battle of Hastings historical site, which was an easy walk from train station. Very friendly staff and a nice chocolate cake slice made us decide to do Sunday roast on the way back. The food was good, especially the roasted vegetables and the Yorkshire pudding. We chose to eat in the back garden, which had picnic tables and a play area for kids. What made our experience so nice were the friendly staff.
