The food and service was fantastic. The Brie wedge is exceptionally good! The chicken skewers are delicious!

Beware food is not inclusive of 20% VAT. Went here on Sunday for Mother's Day as was advertised on outside sign as 2 courses for £23.50. Couldn't fault service or food but don't remember seeing on any signs or on menu that food was exclusive of tax, nor did waitress tell us. Would have rated much higher but was not planning on spending as much so felt misled.

Lovely ambiance in garden. Great service. Superb thin crispy fries. We had taramasalata and pitta starter, and a variety of beautifully presented, open faced sandwiches: roast beef, goats cheese and salmon + prawns. They know what they’re doing.

Came here for a late lunch. A little pricier than other options but still a great option. I got the dressed crab salad and would recommend.

We had a delicious lunch here. Excellent fresh and tasty food served by a friendly but discreet waitress. It was our first visit but we are already planning to return.

I’ve eaten many times at the Sweet Olive . Food is always delicious fresh and well cooked . Staff are what make this place special . They are extremely kind and nothing is too much trouble for them. Menu varies with specials of the day . They cater for group gatherings and can help with menus and food suggestions . They catered for a family funeral and everything went without a hitch . Thoroughly recommend .

Nice food. Good price. Staff was friendly. Food was nice but a bit bland, portions size a little small.

Lovely meal and very good service. Enjoyed the salmon skewer and good to try something different. Husband had the lamb which was equally good.

Enjoyed the food and overall experience here a year ago whilst on holiday. Whilst visiting Battle today we decided to eat here again and weren't disappointed. Friendly staff and varied menu made for a very pleasant time. Hope to return again next year when on holiday in the area.

Had a great family dinner, can recommend the pan fried salmon and everything we had including the hot almond and raspberry cake. Well worth a visit

Lovely food as usual. We have eaten here many times over the past 3 years and we are always delighted with the selection on the menu, Sandra's advice on which wine to have and the service.Local 'home cooking' at it's best and the prices are competitive. Just had a wonderful lunch there.Highly recommended and they use local suppliers for meat etc.

We went because of the 4.7* review score. The service was very friendly. But the scampi came out under cooked. We said about this and they were very good about changing it. And it came out under cooked again. And my wife who ate a little of it had a stomach upset soon afterwards .Prices were expensive considering the small to medium portions. If you look at the most recent reviews you will see a much lower score.
