Only had one drink but friendly staff and good selection on tap. Dog friendly.

Good atmosphere. Really efficient staff who dealt with a busy pub with a good sense of humour and friendly manner.

A very nice pub just off the main high street. It's larger than it looks from the outside. The beer and service are great and the food is good too.

Nice dog friendly pub with an olde worlde bit up front and a more modern dining area behind. Beer was very tasty and the staff were very friendly. Would happily recommend.

Everything okay, but don't have coffee (we was here 12:36)

Excellent pub. A Roaring fire on a freezing March day was most welcoming. Sadly no food service on the afternoon we visited but a great place for drinks.

Update: I called in today (5 Mar 22) to find that the pub no longer serves food. It remains an excellent pub with some good tap drinks and friendly bar staff, but we are down to crisps and nuts. Well worth supporting.Previously: Secluded pub which serves exceĺlent food and beer. Slightly off the main drag and good for that.

The most quaint, charismatic little pub My husband and I always make a point to stop by here when we are visiting East Sussex. the lady behind the bar who has been there the last few visits is always so friendly and welcoming, another reason we enjoy it here, and the pub is a host to many of the locals which is statement in itself what a gem this place is. A ‘proper’ of drinks and a lovely little beer garden Helen & Chris

We was instantly greeted with “ don’t do food “ we never even asked for food . We had a drink then had to wait ages for another drink even though the pub was almost empty . The barmaid day almost next to us on another table vaping constantly and using bad language whilst on her phone most of the time , which prompted us to leave quickly . Disgusting service

A great evening with friends. This is a welcoming pub with a good range of beers and a huge open fire. It is nicely set around a central bar.

Very disappointing. Went there for lunch with my whole family after reading the favorable reviews and looking at the great menu online. After sitting everyone down we find out they no longer serve any food! The young family on the next table had made the same mistake and quickly left. Hardly what I would call a family friendly pub which is exactly what the sign on the wall says. Complete waste of my time. On the positive side they do have a decent selection of beers. So if you are just wanting a drink then it's fine.
