I went for the roast set dinner - huge portions and includes dessert for £24.99. Vegetables were a little salty and the beef was chewy but aside from that, it was really good!

New Years Eve Been here several times before. Arrived at 7pm our party of 4 = £150 each. Looking forward to Champagne Reception. Went to bar = four glasses of Champagne Please. Response with a shrug “it’s all gone”. He said people were waiting to get in at 6.30pm and now it’s all gone. I indicated the offer says “Champagne Reception starting at 6.30pm and Dinner starts at 7.30pm, so 7pm was not an unreasonable time to arrive”. But no, all gone. I ordered some drinks at the chaotic bar and we sat down very incensed. We ate the Starter and Main Course and then left. Maybe it’s a small matter for the hotel but it ruined our night. We went to a bar on the beach .. last time Grand, a sad relic of years gone by.

Recently stayed at The Grand, went into both the bar for evening drinks & the restaurant for their breakfast service. Evening drinks were very pleasant with a chilled atmosphere & friendly staff. The bar itself was also very nice to sit & have a drink. The breakfast service was great with all the food choices you could wish for. Presented nicely & all tasted good, especially considering it was a self service buffet. Staff at breakfast were also brilliant & extremely efficient.

Dinner started off well when we ordered the foccacia bread and oysters with the bread being especially delicious. However, once they took the starter plates away, it took another 30 minutes before the mains came. Once they did come, it was not worth the wait. The salmon and lobster burger was bland and was served with coleslaw which tasted off. However, the fish pie was even worse as it was really watery and served with cabbage which was overly salty. We then decided against dessert as we did not want to wait any longer and the quality of the mains was so poor.

Sunday lunch at Cyan restaurant was recommended to me recently and as all our family including our one year old grandchild were staying with us in Brighton, we decided it was a likely to be a good place to go. All of us loved it. We were placed at an ideal table for the seven of us in the beautiful space that Cyan offers. The staff were professional, welcoming and warm and just great especially with our grand daughter who loved it there. The excellent menu offered favourites for each of us from roast beef to fish to nut roast served with the perfect selection of delicious fresh vegetables all beautifully presented and cooked to perfection and enjoyed with a bottle of excellent Grand Merlot from the Languedoc.. The deserts too were really lovely - sticky toffee pudding went down especially well but so did the other options. We are so pleased we chose The Grand's Cyan Restaurant with the brilliant service, food and atmosphere it offers and though it will sadly be some time before we are all together again, my husband and I will certainly be back perhaps this time for an evening.

We were staying at The Grand and opted to have dinner in as we knew we would have had a busy day. Lovely seats both facing out to the sea view which we really liked. Good service. The menu is reassuringly short and we both felt we could have eaten pretty much all of it. Oysters and smoked salmon, chicken and seafood pasta was all good. We managed a pud and very much enjoyed the wine, again form a nice, relatively short well priced list.

Our visit was a mixture. My wife ordered a whisky and coke specifying no ice. I asked for some tap water on the table. The whisky and coke was bought with ice and so my wife asked for another without ice. She thought it tasted funny, assuming it was the added lime, for which she had no objections, but it transpired on the bill that she had been given a JD and coke. Bourbon, not whisky. When the waiter bought the water he kindly went to pour it into a glass. Unfortunately his mind was so distracted that it splashed quite a bit on the table too, and he left without realising. Easy for us to mop it up, but not what you'd expect at the Grand. When the roasts arrived, my wife's pork belly was entirely fat with no meat. These are the negatives. The positives are that the roast was replaced quickly and both my wife and I found our meals to be delicious, and happy that there was a generous amount of vegetables. The puddings were exquisite, the sticky toffee pudding probably the best I have ever had. The service from all staff bar the one waiter spilling the water was lovely, especially the waitress that smiled continually and checked in on us. So how was our visit to The Grand Cyan Restaurant. Very good, but areas that could be improved on.

We had lunch for two from there set menu, for starters we had mackerel pate with toast my Wife liked the pate but far too much pate for the amount of toast,I had the sticky glazed pork belly with kimchi and Korean spice nice but very fatty. For mains my Wife had the chicken and I had the cod both very good.Dessert we both had pecan pie nice but pastry slightly too hard and thick. The staff were very nice and polite.

I attended Cyan with my family and had the bruschetta to start which was delicious. For my main I had the prawn linguine which is usually a favourite dish of mine wherever I order it ! However there seemed to be no sauce at all included in the dish, I suppose opting for a simple butter sauce. This left me a little disappointed as the pasta then seemed quite flavourless. Nevertheless the prawns were delicious and the portion was a great size.

Booked a table for 3 of us for Sunday lunch to celebrate my mum’s birthday & had a lovely time. I’d requested a table outside in the terrace & this was honoured. Drinks order taken quickly & I recommend the mezcal berry cocktail - fabulous! My husband & mum ordered the chicken & I opted for the beef. All 3 arrived piping hot with huge yorkshire puddings & sides of crispy roast potatoes, 2 cauliflower cheese, carrots, cabbage, parsnips & french beans. Desserts were pineapple tarte tatin with coconut sorbet & the cheese board. Both servers we had were very good & a credit to your restaurant & I asked them to increase the service charge to 20% instead. Excellent value for money & we look forward to coming back.
