Extremely disappointing. Not the same since Covid.\\nThis restaurant has no expertise on bookings. We arrived at 6.30 PM when it was virtually empty but in 30 minutes, three tables of eight people arrived. Huge pressure for the chef and small kitchen. Needless to say, some groups waited for over an hour to obtain some food.\\n\\nMy experience of the food was not good. Over seasoned meat dishes made the food inedible. When complaining, there was attitude rather than acceptance.\\n\\nOn the positive, the waiters were professional and excellent. The issue is the owner as it is clear that even after all these years, she needs to manage booking times so people do not all arrive together in large groups and all be disappointed with the waiting time and furthermore poor quality food due to chef time pressures.\\n\\nI will not be coming back. If you decide to go, it is a lottery.\\n\\nNot recommended.

As you enter this very typical Chinese style restaurant you go upstairs to be seated and greeted by two ladies who inform you that there are two menus. One, Chinese for the western taste and the other Chinese food for Chinese people. It appears to be frequented by many Chinese people too!The first menu has the standard fare of most Chinese restaurants - sweet and sours etc. The second has a whole range of different dishes. We went as a party of five; two had the standard English Chinese type menu and three of us had the Chinese style. Apparently - slightly more expensive but bigger portions. We asked for recommendations and ended up with a tofu and beef dish, an aubergine dish and a quite hot chilli and cumin lamb dish plus an egg fried rice. There was plenty to eat and they were all very good but the aubergine dish came in a sweet and dark sauce and was absolutely delicious. What a find. Two of us had a beer and one had jasmine tea and we paid about £10 each. I left full and very happy and my wife can't wait to go back to try some more of that different menu.

Great Chinese food, cooked well and tasty. The service is efficient and not unfriendly or friendly. The surroundings are practical and kind of typical of proper Chinese eateries. This is somewhere you go to eat, not really entertain or take the wife out for a romantic meal. Kind of like a transport cafe that sells great Chinese food.

My first and my last visit. Terrible experience. Please see photos. There were only 3 tables after the entrance. But there’s a sign that there’s more upstairs. Two ladies were sitting on one of the table. The two unoccupied tables weee both dirty. I sat and the waitress / cashier/ came to spray and wipe. Took my order and later served after 30 mins. She served a large bowl of beef soup and prawn toast. The prawn toast( you can taste the toast and find the prawn… the soup and prawn toast also very greasy and you can taste the oil. What’s worst, the cutlery given to me are dirty. Thankfully my food doesn’t require to use knife and fork. I took a pic. I didn’t finish. Can’t stand the taste. When I use the toilet, it’s not dirty but it’s not my liking. I find the price expensive .

A deceiving little place. But the most delicious Chinese food I have ever had. Wish this was near where we lived! Highly recommend the crispy beef!

Stale prawn crackers, chicken satay was chewy and couldn’t eat it. I don’t tend to review restaurants poorly and understand that the chef can have a bad night but the quality was very concerning and I hope that what I did eat won’t lead to food poisoning. The restaurant also needed a good clean.

We received a very warm welcome and our server was excellent. The decor was typically Chinese and the food had an authentic taste.

We bought T4 milk tea, and decided to find one spicy Chinese food restaurant. We came in, they took away our milk tea, saying no milk tea allowed to take in, they will keep it, even though I said I was not going to drink it.Food wise, good taste for spicy Dandan noodle, and very big portion, worth the money.

The service was horrible. We asked for the time to get the food and the lady in the counter replied in a rude way.

The food isn’t bad, yet it took 1hr to serve. The dining time is 2hrs, and we were rushed and accused of ‘eating too slowly for 2hrs and half’ when we’d only been eating for nearly 1hr and half.I’m fine with a kind reminder, but not with this.

The owner was extremely rude as we had hotpot buffet in the rush hour, we got our food served late and got rushed to finish our food within two hours. The owner literally came to us to say CHAT LESS AND EAT FASTER! IT’S NEARLY TWO HOURS. ?‍♀️

A very warm welcome, the Lady in charge could not have been more helpful. You can choose between an authentic menu or a more run of the mill Chinese staples that most are familiar with. We decided on the authentic menu, which had some very traditional items which the average British person would probably not entertain! However we were asked what type of food we liked and given recommendations. We had an authentic Kung Po chicken which was unlike the normal Chinese fare, Beef with cumin and chilli and an aubergine dish which was fabulous and unlike any we had eaten before. Very large portions, which personally I'm not keen on as I don't like to waste food. The restaurant itself is a little tired but the food more than made up for this. Would definitely return if in Brighton again- unlike China Garden which I would never return to!
