Popped in on the off chance after a walk on ashdown forest. Three of us were found a table, had drinks and some food with our dog. Lovely staff, friendly! Great food too. Will definitely be coming back. Will book next time.

Popped in for a very tasty sandwich, a little on the expensive side.

Lovely mid-week lunch by the fire. Very attentive staff, delicious food and a warm atmosphere.

Good food great service the guys were very attentive and polite. Comfortable beds and clean facilities. 5stars across the board fellas, we took good memories with us back to Germany many thanks. And the food! It all arrived as if it had been prepared for a photo shooting, tasted as good as it looked.

Showed to a suite down the side of the biulding next to the Tesco petrol garage under the noisy greasy kitchen extractor fan after having a Sunday roast in the pubs eating area (the roast was nice actually so I rate the grub) but I had an allergic reaction to the accommodation after an hour so, so didn't stay the night and went and found another hotel. Did send an email requesting a refund but never heard back from staff.

Good to be back here after a long absence when it was shut and boarded up. Excellent staff, good beer, another top Swan in Sussex to add to Falmer and Lewes.

We came here as a group of 19 with 8 children. The service was impeccable with lots of attention to detail and really caring staff. We were all very impressed with the food! Definitely recommend.

I have been staying here to look after my mum who lives locally. The rooms are beautifully appointed, spotlessly clean and great value for money. Hotel du Vin quality without the cost!! New managers are doing a really good job - retained staff are amazing.

Stayed for two nights in a superior double room. The staff were very helpful and the food was good. The room was not worth £150 a night. It was sparsely furnished, with nothing in keeping with the age of the pub, plus awful perspex bedside tables and one perspex chair. There was more than enough room for a seating area. The bathroom was through a pair of swing saloon doors, so there was little privacy. Surely it would not be difficult to fit a door? The hot selection of breakfast items was excellent, but there was no continental items at all, nor was there something as simple as toast and jam or marmalade. My scrambled eggs were served on a piece of bread.... A new manager started on the day we left but he did not acknowledge us. Possibly just as well! I have waited until now to leave this review as Balfour (who own the pub) had requested a review which I sent. I was rather hoping that, by now, someone would have responded to that review with some reassurances, but nothing, which was a shame. We are unlikely to return.
