My wife and I spent a couple of nights here two weeks ago. We had a large family room - with extra sofa bed - and so ample space for all of out luggage. Breakfast and dinner were very good and reasonably priced. Thanks to all of the team and especially to Myline who did a great job looking after our room! Best regards, Graham

My daughter and I went for a meal and had a disappointing time. The service was shocking, we waited almost an hour for the food to arrive and it was only when I asked about it that it arrived. Tables that had come in after us received their food before us. It was obvious from the state of my food that it had been left out for some time as my fish was dry as a bone. No apologies from the staff for the obvious oversight. We will not be going back.

We stayed one night to see a show at The Brighton Dome. We booked this hotel because it was more affordable than central Brighton on a busy Saturday night and had the benefit of free parking. Check in was quick with a very friendly welcome. The room was very nice, fresh and clean with nice touches like an espresso machine, nice soap etc. The bed was comfy. We opted for an English breakfast in the morning, served in the pub. It was very good, made with quality ingredients. The pub has lovely views (you do have to look past a busy road but it’s still nice). I’d definitely recommend this place for a stay.

We arrived early and the hotel made sure our room was quickly prepared so that we could relax and unwind after a long journey. This friendly, attentive service continued throughout our stay. Really lovely rooms (thanks Myline!). Good location, great food - all in all an excellent stay!

This was a one night stay to see Alfie Boe at the Dome in Brighton. We were pleasantly surprised with our room (No.6). There was plenty of space even with a large king size bed. The member of staff who prepares the rooms takes pride in her work. The shower was excellent, the controls worked as they should and the pressure was perfect. We had lunch and breakfast at the hotel, the food was very good with plenty of choice. Gemma who was serving at breakfast made sure that things ran smoothly, she was attentive, polite and friendly. We will stay here again.

Well what can I say about the roast dinner! Avoid at all cost £16+ for a three roast / the roast potatoes 3of them we’re not fresh (frozen) the mash packet the meat was not hot in fact I’m shore in was pre packed that you get from a deli on a scale of 1-10 I would rate this -2 .

Our wonderful experience began with a warm and gentle welcome which we really appreciated as we had not visited this part of England before. The room was very comfortable and stylish, thank you Angela for the personal touch. The food was excellent, wonderful evening meal. We were expecting a buffet breakfast and instead we were treated to wonderful freshly prepared dishes. Highly recommend.

Our 1st time back after it had been through a major refurbishment...and it shows. From the welcoming bar and restaurant area to the comfortable, luxury of the bedrooms, The Downs Hotel is a very pleasant setting made easier by the free on site parking. After a good night's sleep, we enjoyed a full english breakfast (included in the price) relaxing, with a coffee or two, by the large front window with views alternating between the beautiful landscape and cars heading to various destinations. Did I say this was relaxing? The staff were friendly, helpful and engaging.

Staff were excellent. One of the steaks was all gristle but they replaced it very quickly. Overall the rest of the food was pretty average.

Stayed with one of my dogs - very accommodating and made me feel very welcome. Room was clean, beautifully turned out and had everything you could want for a comfortable stay. Food (Dinner & Breakfast) was excellent - very tasty and well presented. Good selection and service. Reasonably priced for stay and meals. Would recommend

Have been researching places to eat before matches at the AMEX and saw some people talking about the pub on football forums. It did not disappoint, great friendly service, food well presented and staff even answers all my questions about the hotel and travelling to the ANEX, you can have table service in restaurant or Oder food at the bar in the other side , with television with live football. Very clean and a great family pub.

We stayed here for 3 nights. Absolutely fantastic place to stay. Very dog friendly. Fantastic, attentive staff. Amazing food. The Philly Cheesesteak sandwich was the best lunch I've ever had. Would definitely recommend

Wonderful friendly staff. Delicious food. Perfect location and even the locals are warm and welcoming. Bus links to central Brighton are regular and the city centre is not too far away. The beauty of the location is you have the South Downs Nation Park behind the hotel (literally) and amazing sea views in front.

My wife and I called for a drink on our way home. I ordered a pint of Doom Bar and a medium glass of red wine. We sat down and within 10 minutes we were informed that the bar was now closed and could you please drink up. I left haft of my cloudy pint and lWalked out not to return.
