Cafes in Hastings

“Set on a bustling little street and surrounded by historic architecture, we were attracted into Ladle by the sight of people, inside and out, clearly having a brilliant time. We were not disappointed with our lovely lunch. I don't know how they turn out food of such amazing quality in such a tiny place! My husband had fillets of sea bass on a bed of crushed new potatoes and crab, nestling in a deep pool of creamy watercress sauce. I had their salad bowl, rich with avocado, feta and seeds. Everything was super fresh and bursting with flavour. We had a nice reasonably-priced bottle of chilled Pinot Grigio and finished up with a pastel de nata and ice cream, and a magnificent dark chocolate delice with whipped coconut cream and strawberries. Ladle seems to be a local favourite, and I can see why. Really great food at a good price and a nice atmosphere. The whole experience was so nice we had to go back the next day to do it all again, this time managing to get a table outside in the late September sunshine! Will definitely visit again when we're back in Hastings.”

“Great skatepark, especially over the winter months. A tad pricey though in comparison to other skateparks.”

“Called in for a Sunday brunch. I found the menu limiting but I wasn't aware of the food genre as I was more concerned with being fed. Really friendly staff and what I had was lovely - who would think to pair a toasted cheese sandwich with humus? Yum! I'll definitely be back another time for a later meal, the lunch menu looked tasty!Vegetarian options: A great veggie menu here!Parking: There are a limited number of spaces outside the cafe but being the seafront there are loads of paid parking places nearby.Kid-friendliness: Very child friendly.”

“I booked an Afternoon Tea and the staff were amazing, especially accomadating extra guests with tea cups. The price was exceptional for the quality and quantity. Perfect. Definitely going to book again. The only reason for a 4* for atmosphere was due to the workman banging, but that wasn't the staffs fault and we were informed when booking.”

“Lovely lunch. Reasonable prices on the menu .Great for watching the old town go by. It's popular with local people so you know that it's a good place to go . They cater to vegetarian and vegan tastes so there is something for everyone . Even beans on toast for the little ones . If you want to try and keep that of their shirts lol”
