Wasn't lucky enough to try the food as I was passing through Hastings quickly, but I did grab a drink, the fruit punch. They also have the ORANGE glass bottled Fanta orange (you'll know why I've capitalised the orange if you've tasted the difference in fantas). The smell coming from the kitchen was mouth watering, the music blasting from inside the shop mixed with the smell of the food drew me in! The man who I assume is the owner is a fellow londonder, really really nice guy. If I'm ever passing through Hastings again I will 1 million% be making time to grab a plate. Its great to see Caribbean / African restaurants that are truly authentic outside of the big cities! More business & more blessings ??

If you are visiting Hastings, you have to go to The Crown. During our day out in Hastings, We found this cozy pub just a short walk from the beach, and we really enjoyed the food. We went for the Roast Fillet of Coley with crisp potatoes, paired with Rothaus beer—the food was exquisite. Although we didn’t booked in advance, we were able to find a table. This is a comfortable spot with great food and atmosphere, highly recommended.

What a superb restaurant. Our first time in this comfortable, restful restaurant.
The food was wonderful, the Carbonara was equal to what I had the last time I was in Italy, my partner had salmon which was cooked to perfection.
To finish our lunch, a marvellous surprise of Limoncello liquor. Excellent!

Food came out promptly and at same time ....i had the fish and chips ---delicious and nice crispy light batter, and ended with the sticky toffee which was really delicious. Staff were friendly and helpful, food was served promptly and piping hot. 3 of our group had the homemade chicken, ham and leek pie, which was excellent! Big chunks of chicken and really flavourful. The xod and chips, Anchor burger and BBQ ribs were equally as well received.

The Plough Inn

I recently celebrated my birthday at the Plough, I met with the staff in advance who discussed with me what provisions that I would like for them to help me with. They were very accommodating, and were able to put together a vegan buffet spread for me and my guests. I was surprised by how very decent and varied the food was, as dairy free options are often quite slim, but the Plough's efforts satisfied my hungry horde well with some left over. I was kindly offered the opportunity to have my preferred music playing, and so surrounded by friends and family I was very much immersed in an ideal atmosphere. The pub was of course still open to the regular clientele, but everyone was pleasant, and it helped greatly that the venue is dog-friendly. This allowed certain guests to attend who otherwise might not have, and is always a good indicator that the management are considerate. I had multiple comments from my guests remarking on how decent the venue is, we all had an outstanding time, and I regard this as possibly my most successful birthday. Thank you Becky, Alex, Dan, and any other staff that I didn't catch the name of.

The two Sawyers always seems to be busy, the car park full and often people sitting outside. There is good choice in the menu and the food has not let us down. Being busy the staff can be slow at times but as long as you in good company that's not a problem. We visited yesterday, having tried other fish and chips restaurants in the area previously, so we thought we would try The Rainbow Restaurant for a change.. the food was nice and hot when it arrived.. we did not have a long wait.. quite cheap looking cheeseburgers for the children, but they had clear plates, which is a very good sign! Us adults' fish and chips were good, good portion sizes and freshly cooked.. the restaurant was clean, plenty of staff working, so we were tended to promptly.. the toilet facilities were upstairs, through another seating area, which were clean.. fair prices.. outdoor seating available.. we would go back, but have had a little better elsewhere.. glad we tried it though..

Top class. I don't normally do a review, but this experience deserves a mention. My wife and l, had the Rump steak, it was without a doubt, the best steak meal we have ever had. Followed with Key lime pie for my wife and roasted peanut banoffee pie for me, both were to die for. Top all that with first class friendly service. All l can say is, if your in Hastings do yourself a favour and go give them a go, you won't regret it.

Whilst on holiday in the area, we saw Nur when we are in Hastings. It looked nice enough for us to book to return a few evenings later on our wedding anniversary. We were not disappointed! Great food, excellent service and good atmosphere. Above all, a bonus that they are dog-friendly! Beef stroganoff I had was probably the best I have ever had, prepared in the classic way of thin strips of beef rather than lazy way using diced beef (which so many restaurants seem to do these days). Thoroughly recommended and we will be back in the future. Thank you ?

We stopped for coffee here a week or so ago on a walk on Hastings seafront the coffee was great all the food smelt amazing said we’d pop back for food and today was that day we ate Afghan biryani’s one chicken and one lamb it was absolutely amazing full of flavour mega portions these where recommended by the lady who cooks son and it was delicious I recommend this place if there where more stars I’d fully give them #tenten1010 we will definitely be back.

Came to Hastings a few times over the last eight years and we always aimed to come to this cafe on our visits. It’s always been pleasant.
Best thing for this visit is that they have got sandwiches and other food in addition to the cakes!! The beef pastrami toasties were absolutely delicious! The salad is very tasty too. Highly recommended!
The cafe is beautiful and relaxing with plants and nice easy music. Owners are very friendly. Really enjoyed time here.

Sunday lunchtime at the Rock a Nore Kitchen was a joy. We were lucky to walk in and get a table - booking recommended - for an excellent meal on Hastings Old Town seafront.

We shared a white bait starter followed by the special skate wing and a cod Sicilian carbonara. Wonderfully fresh fish, great flavours and all paired with a delicious bottle of Sancere.

Thank you to the wonderful chef owner and kind server for fuelling us up for exploring Hastings.

My husband and I popped in yesterday and were able to bring our Dog with us.
Greeted by a lovely young lady who took our order of food and drinks.
Both my husband and I ordered a Fish Burger which was absolutely fantastic and a small glass of wine each.
Fantastic service, really lovely friendly staff and the music was brilliant.
Would highly recommend and will definitely be back the next time we are in the area

Being down in Hastings for work I fancied getting some fish and chips and eating them next to the sea so went for a walk and came across the Fish Hut and I’m so glad I did! The fish and chips were pretty much cooked to order, everything was lovely and hot, fish batter was crispy and the whole thing delicious! The gentleman serving was very lovely and chatted whilst I was waiting. Would 100% recommend.

I loved the unique atmosphere with all the books, and I agree with people who say this place probably has the nicest toilet in the city! The latte was very delicious as well and the place is pet-friendly, so you can always see some cute dogs while you are enjoying your coffee or tea.

What a cracking find! We've been coming to Hasting whilst on our camping holiday for years. We normally went to the chippy by the trampolines, however this year we had friends come visit us and one of our friends has to have gluten free food. A Quick gander on Google and we find this place. And what a find it is! Staff really friendly, food comes piping hot and has a decent meanu choice for Gluten free eaters. We all had something different and it delicious. Cannot recommend enough. Forget going the the chip shopsnon the front, walk down a little further and pop into this place. You won't regret it. We will definitely return next year on our holiday!

The fish and chips are delicious and a good size can't recommend enough, the staff are ever so polite and helpful. When the wind blew a menu and knocked a cab off pop over they came out straight away and cleaned the table and gave us a free van of pop and a bowl of chips, (which they didn't need to do) they were lovely. Only down side is the price, but it's inline with the other chip shops.

I booked an Afternoon Tea and the staff were amazing, especially accomadating extra guests with tea cups. The price was exceptional for the quality and quantity. Perfect. Definitely going to book again. The only reason for a 4* for atmosphere was due to the workman banging, but that wasn't the staffs fault and we were informed when booking.

I'm from London and my taste pellet has Been extremely spoilt from all sorts of yummy different cultured dishes, I've experienced IN THE PAST this place by far is one of the absoult beBEST.. and was GUTTED I COULDNT ORDER FROM HERE last NIGHT.. I go via the JUST EAT APP eat app just for reference guys IVE GOT 60.00 WORTH OF TAKE OUT SITTING ON THE WORK TOP.. not eaten..! This place /chef knows how to to knock up decent food properly. and very on point . as for everywhere else.. I'll just quit having a lazy day and save myself chucking 60.00 basically in the bin.. ive been here 7yrs and his by far is my 1st go to place now. Not overly salty.. not bland. Fast delivery when I ordered the b4.. absoulty gutted they wasn't on the app yesturday.. should have canbed it over would have be way cheaper n more satisfying long run

Went there for lunch to have fish and chips. The staff were friendly and welcoming and we were tended too fairly quickly after sitting down.

We ordered two fish and chips, with bread and butter for two. Food was cooked and was served steaming hot. Waiting time was what I'd describe as very reasonable for freshly cooked fish and chips.

Table side condeiments were available as one would expect sitting down for food.

Would happily come again.

We paid by contactless payment with no issues.
