The nicest and lightest batter I've eaten in the UK. Batter here is often heavy and greasy, which takes over the flavour of the fish. This was perfect. Very friendly service too.

Really excellent fish and chips, freshly cooked to order. Nice crisp batter. Friendly smiley service. Eat in or takeaway. Most Hastings fish and chip shops are in the Old Town but Pier Catch is a few hundred yards from the town centre in the other direction, towards the Pier, and, as far as I know is the only chippie in this area. As such it's a local treasure. Highly recommended.

Pretty poor, unfortunately. Poor fish, poor batter, oily and not bubbly, just a hard case. Mushy peas ok, chips quite good.

-Bad service-Asked 4 times for tap water-Funny coloured undercooked looking sausage-thick batter on the fish-salty ketchup- overall would definitely not recommend

we arrived around 12:15, not long after they opened. We were greeted by a lovely friendly gentleman who took our order and explained there would be a short wait as they had just opened. We ordered sausages and chips and scampi and chips The food was served, good portion sizes, hot food and nice atmosphere. The best fish and chip food i have had in a very long time, no soggy chips, beautiful scampi and delicious sausages.

Was a very friendly place the staff were very nice. The food was very nice as well. The atmosphere was nice too. Only issue was strange customers swearing and acting wierd but this is not the fault of the restaurant.

Called into this chip shop prior to visiting White Rock Theatre. We only wanted a bag of chips each, to eat outside, while we were waiting to go into the show. We were served by a lovely, friendly man who presented us with two bags of steaming, golden chips. They looked delicious! We stood outside, overlooking the seafront and, whether it was a mixture of the sea air, the thought of our week's holiday just beginning or just the amazing chips themselves but they were the best 'meal' we had all week. :D Lovely, crunchy, salty chips, that stayed hot to the bottom of the bag. How I wish we had good chippies like this where we live! Just perfect!

This was the worst fish and chips I have ever had. The medium cod and chips at £12.65 was over priced for a kids meal sized portion. The chips were crispy but in general lacked potato. Not sure when the oil was last changed but they left a lot on the fish and the chips and the taste lingered long in to the evening. Save yourself a lot of heartburn and avoid.

Everything clean, friendly staff, fair price and solid food (fish and chips)

Food was good but the Service was awkward. Either way, a decent chippy.

A little stop while walking from Haven caravan park to Hastings castle, good food, chips fried and crunchy not like others mushy potatoes dipped in oil. Highly recommended.

Hmmm. £3.20 for a small chips is ridiculous, but they were good chips. I doubt I will go back at that price though, as there is plenty of cheaper competitors in this town of many chippys.

If your visiting a seaside town like Hastings, it is just proper to try the local Fish and Chips in the area. Pier Catch is conveniently located infront of Hasting Pier. We ordered 3 Large Cod,1 medium Cod, 2 chicken burgers and chips. Everything were cooked fresh infront of me. Unlike most chips served in fish n chips, which are too big and soggy, they made them just right, you can really tell they were hand cut bec of the uneven sizes but that actually worked. You get crunchy bits of perfectly cooked chips. The fish batter were light and crunchy while the fish taste fresh. The owner and staff were really friendly and accommodating. The price is a bit pricey but what do you expect for a seaside restaurant. One thing that was a bit off also was the price of the dipping sauce. I don't mind paying extra but 50p for 1 pocket of ketchup is just too much but other than that the food, service and cleanliness was ?.
