Yaw’s is hands down the best Chinese in heathfield. We have never had a bad meal from there, the staff are extremely knowledgable, thoughtful and kind. Food is always fresh and piping hot - not to mention absolutely delightful! It’s so easy to stick to the same meal every time but every now and then we venture out and are never disappointed! We would never cheat on Yaw’s!

As it was my birthday I treated myself to beef in Malaysian Satay sauce (£10.50 in April '23 menu). Luckily my ageing belly cannot take a glutinous portion these days, the standard pot was only around 3/4 full. Most of the beef was super tender, however, if your gnashers are of delicate constitution or the thought of gristle zips your mouth shut then this dish isn't for you. I had three bites that even my indestructible shiny-whites couldn't breakthrough, leaving that awkward situation where you are waiting for everyone to be distracted so you discreetly pretend you're wiping your face while depositing said inedible food into napkin. I liked the pineapple but am still on the fence with cooked cucumber, not sure I appreciate the texture with the beef. The sauce was nice.My rice was really yummy, not too dry, not soggy, tasty with nice ingredients added in and chopped to a nice size.Along with a starter my order was nearly £25 for one, so definitely a birthday treat only on our budget. I would say the quality has gone down from a couple of years ago when it was exceptional. We don't get to eat here much anymore, being a couple of miles out of town the terminated delivery service was quite a blow to a delicious meal after a busy day when we're too tired to cook.

On holiday in the area, we fancied having someone else cook our dinner and found a leaflet for Yaw's in our cottage. We ventured into the shop and found it clean and welcoming. The food was delicious, good quality and seemed to be good value for the amount we received. Would recommend it if you are nearby.

Service was prompt and polite, and the business is well presented. Unfortunately the food was bland, dry, burnt and otherwise rather tasteless. Wouldn't use again. Felt it was a waste of money. Not cheap either!

Amazing selection of takeaway dishes. Best red curry I have ever had. Good value for money.

Great takeaway meal, food was tasty and will definitely be ordering again. Best Chinese in Heathfield.

The food is probably more authentic than most Chinese takeaways and flavour was good but overall it was too oily, the dim sum had bone in, the noodles taste ‘burnt’ and were very greasy, we spent £35 and didn’t get any prawn crackers.

Went to daughter and son in law for supper and ordered from Yaws, would NOT do it again.I cannot even describe the consistency of the sweet and sour sauce (jelly/gluop) the noodles tasted of nothing, the mains were not great either.Certainly not rushing back.

Used to be reliable, with good food. However, over the last year or so, the quality of food as dropped enormously and orders are repeatedly wrong - often reading out the right order, but then giving the wrong order to the kitchen. Having been a customer for many years we keeping giving the benefit of the doubt, but four times now in the last year orders have been messed up, meaning we've had to go back out to collect missing dishes which we get an hour after the first dishes. Unfortunately, each time responsibility is refused and no apology was forthcoming from Yaw's Kitchen, so we'll be trying alternative options in the future.
