I went there in last month with some of my business partners.. then we ordered some tandoori dishes.. it was quite nice but their staff behaviour was so cheap as their boss.. then tried some sea food which wasn’t good enough.. it was a phenomenal experience I’ve ever had.. Their chef was main terrible person who hadn’t any manners that how to talk with the customers.. I would definitely not recommend to go there.. bcz the boss behaviour with the staff was so lame that made me so sad as well..

I’ve been trying to find the best curry in Brighton & Hove for a long time. Finally I can say I’m extremely happy with the one I had this evening. Amazing food & service.UPDATE - been a few times since my first review. The food is not as good as it used to be, very disappointed. Portions have also been made smaller. Won’t be returning sadly.

When we first arrived, our impression was that it's a very busy place, likely offering excellent service. The three of us friends were seated, and a grumpy old man asked if we wanted any papadams and how many. We requested just one plate, feeling unsure since every table had the same item. We thought it might be complimentary ?( btw they charges us). Then we ordered biryani and balti; they were very dry, with a small quantity. We had to order again, this time Dhansak with rice. Honestly, none of these dishes were tasty or up to the mark in terms of quality. They all had a similar overly sweet taste.Adding to the disappointment, the service was not upto the mark. During our second order, that old man loudly criticized us to the other staff in their local Sylheti Bengali language, wondering why we girls were ordering repeatedly. Being Bengali ourselves, we understood the language. We cannot recommend this place. None of the items presented represented authentic South Asian food. Trust me, I'm saying this as someone who belongs to this culture.

Not unpleasant, but not exactly a wow either, just average. Food was OK, and service was good. Very warm inside (and we were by the door). Possibly needing some decoration, as it looked rather tired.

Lovely dinner and really nice service.I always like to try something new and I had lots to pick from here. The classics were also very tasty. The atmosphere inside was really relaxed too, but with attentive service. Just what we were looking for.

Indiana in Hove is still one of the best curry houses in Brighton. You always get a warm welcome & the food is always good & very well priced. We had a lovely meal there on Friday. Tasty onion bhajis & popadoms with chutneys to start & tandoori main with garlic naan.Been coming to Indiana for years & it never disappoints.

It was lunchtime in Church Road Hove. I was blown away by the number of cafes and interesting eateries along this busy street but I remembered Indiana from my last visit, nearly twenty years ago.So I binned the idea of a ham sandwich and went to see if Indiana still existed. It was shortly after noon on a Tuesday; the proprietor was reading the Daily Mirror and looked over his glasses and invited me to take a walk of shame to the table for one. A plumber was laying on the floor doing a belly dance under a fridge full of Cobra beer. I looked at the menu for an amazing dish I remember having before: Murghy Keema Mossala, a sort of chicken bhuna laced with minced lamb in a delicious spicy gravy, with a side helping of rice. I threw in a stuffed paratha for good measure. Poppadoms were served, alongside condiments, including a freshly prepared onion salad. All this, and a free After Eight, for £16.50. Well done Indiana. See you sonetime again in the next twenty years. Don't go away.

Good food, great service ad great prices but check you bill carefully as things weren't as expected, simple mistake, Sorry!!! Be careful.
As a customer, it's important to feel valued and respected, especially when dining out. Unfortunately, the restaurant fell short in providing adequate customer service. It's unacceptable that i was charged a customer service fee when I felt like i received no service at all. While it's common for some restaurants to add a service charge to the bill, this should only be done if the service provided meets a certain standard. If customer felt like you were not treated with respect or care, you have every right to question the charge. It's disappointing that the restaurant management didn't address my concerns and instead forced you to pay the fee. This kind of behavior is unacceptable and may discourage customers from returning in the future.I would caution other potential customers to research the restaurant's policies and read reviews from previous customers before dining at Maharaja Indian Restaurant. It's important to support businesses that prioritize customer satisfaction and respect their customers' rights. The old man there is talking to us as if he is going to quarrel with us.Overall, it was a negative experience and hope that the restaurant takes steps to improve their customer service in the future.
