Superb, from the moment my friend and l entered. Charming owners welcome (and cook) for you, from an extensive menu and excellent wine list. We had a different chef's special each, swapped halfway to see if we enjoyed them each. We did! Salmon with spaghetti, sliced cooked cucumber and cheese, and stunningly tasty rounds of beef in a rich butter and herb sauce, with neatly sliced warm focaccia. A simple, lovely decor, linen cloths and napkins - very light background music. We had complimentary olives and, after a bottle of rosé and dessert, also complimentary Limoncello. A lovely experience, and we'll be regular visitors from now on.

Over the years we visited several Michelin restaurants with mixed experiences but Etch. is one of 3 places so far that we will definitely be coming back to when in Brighton next. Myself,wife and mother in law decided to go here for dinner,we had been before but it was a while ago. We ordered our drinks while looking at the food menu… Lots of choice,from Veggie,meat and fish… We had a mixture of hot and cold starters and then we had our mains… We always order far too much food and always end up with a doggy bag to take home. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The food was so good and very filling,no doubt we will be returning in the near future.

What a wonderful dining experience. This is a beautiful bar & restaurant, small but perfect, with glorious welcoming staff & fabulous decor (those green tiles are magnificent). We sat at the bar & had a birds eye view of the passion these chefs had, in preparing & producing stunning food. We had to choose a few small plates….it was a struggle-we wanted to try everything! The goats cheese churros were extraordinary-dipped in honey-heavenly. In fact, every single mouthful was sheer delight. Thank you so much to all concerned-we will be back!

Just perfect. If you want creatively produced plant-based food at its absolute best, this is it. Each dish not only imaginatively presented but full of different tastes. Lots of choice and we went for a selection of dishes which we shared. We managed a dessert - despite being full - well, because they looked to good to bypass. All washed down with delicious glass of wine and followed by hot steaming coffee . Service throughout helpful and with a smile. Can't recommend Botanique enough. Note, this visit was for a birthday celebration for our carnivore sister..... and she chose the venue as it's one o f her favourites.

The magic touch I didn’t know it needed. You know how some food just makes you happy and you want to do a little dance every time you take a bite? Well, that is the case when I have Tropical Sushi.Now, let’s talk about the customer service. It was my second time going there for takeout, and not only did they recognise and greet me with such a warm welcome, but they even offered me a complimentary drink, saying I had to try it if i liked ginger (which I certainly do!). There was no need for them to offer me that, but extremely sweet they did.Finally, I’d like to mention their very quick service and incredible attention to detail.If you are looking for delicious Japanese food with a twist (whether you are vegan or not), this place is a must try.P.S. We approached this small business to host our intimate wedding. It was not just a restaurant, Filipa was like an event planner and organiser. They were so accommodating, anything we asked for was never too much. Communication was always so quick which made planning a wedding so much easier. It was all in the details, mood lighting, candles, drinks on arrival and the food was absolutely unreal. All the guests commented on how it was the best Greek food they had tasted! The reason I went was because of the homemade pulled pork, cracking, stuffing and BBQ/apple sauce baguette. It is unreal, and under a fiver. The choc brownie was fantastic as well. Much like the another review, visited when we moved to the area in 2016, not believing it could be that bad... and it really was!Luckily the old rude owner has gone and the new people have changed this place for the better. Very friendly service and quick preparation. Food wasn't incredible, but was certainly better than average. Portion size was okay, particularly the sweet and sour sauce which was the biggest I've ever seen from a takeaway. Free prawn crackers were much appreciated too.Slightly annoyingly they still only take cash (which I thought was just the previous owner being stingy), even though there's an ATM next door, it's still a bit outdated and frustrating.Only other feedback is while it's great the food comes in metal containers rather than plastic tubs, it'd be great if they could go the whole way and use cardboard lids instead of the wasteful plastic ones.

I am so fed up with the chains and 'high-end' places for coffee and some food - particularly when their meagre vegan offerings are expensive and disappointing. So I was delighted to find The Tea Leaf today! I was freezing cold and starving and looked at the menu in the window - plenty of vegan options.. Yay! Nice and quirky inside - cushions, cosy and welcoming.. Couldn't decide between the stuffed peppers, minestrone soup, baked potato or a toasted sandwich. Eventually went for the latter-- lovely garlicky hummus, avocado at its best and veg... all served in toasted sourdough. And a lovely cup of tea with oat milk. Nosey me found that this place has only been taken over 2 months ago and, honestly, their vegan options were the best along the road (I looked at every cafe). If you want a warm welcome, quirky and a change from the same-old, same-old - theTea Leaf is for you.

Fantastic Japenese food in an amazing cafe. We went in at lunchtime and ordered a bit of everything, and would happily do so again. The chicken katsui was perfect, the croquettes and dumplings were also amazing and I've never had rice balls like that in the UK. The Matcha crepe cake was also outstanding. Will hopefully be coming back regularly! Don't be fooled by the location, Cafe An-an is brilliant and should definitely be on your list of places to eat wherever you live!

We often go to rustico and get takeaway from them too. We went last Friday when the had a great kids eat free offer. We had three quite rambunctious kids and Ryan in particular was great with them. Not only patient, but positively encouraging them, joking around - my kids came out saying it was the best fun they’d had for ages. I love the rusticotti too - small pizzas for people who don’t want to eat a full size pizza. My girls love their pasta and meatballs too!

Absolutely exceptional food, really tasty, very fresh and enough of it to keep me full for the rest of the afternoon. Super friendly owner who came and apologised for the slight delay in serving us but it was definitely worth the wait. First time visiting but will be back before too long!

Gorgeous little Italian restaurant just round the corner from our house. We absolutely love Amici. The food is affordable and really tasty and the service is always incredible. It is a cosy small restaurant with lovely staff and a great atmosphere. The food is always tasty, good sized portions, quick service, always comes out hot. My favourite dish has to be the nduja pasta with mascarpone, it usually varies in spice level depending who is cooking it in the kitchen but it is always delicious. We love coming here for an easy dinner with friends and family. Highly recommend.

We were beautifully welcomed-& looked after-as soon as we walked into this small, intimate restaurant, guided through a lovely menu & told the food was Equadorian with an Indian twist. Exciting! And the food was wonderful-plenty of choice for every kind of palate-preceded by glorious cocktails. And we were told the food came out when it was ready….which is all very well, but made the meal as a whole, a little disjointed. So a tiny bit disappointing, but the evening was still a fun one.

This place has pretty much become my new local since moving to Hove. The staff are friendly, service is efficient and food is good ? standard pub grub, nice for an inexpensive meal out. Drinks prices are pretty much standard for Brighton, but there are sometimes offers on the Greene King app for a free pint. Can be a little loud and busy on match days, which is standard.

I couldn’t rate this place more! Waitress Lottie is a joy to be served by, and the food made by chef Joe was so delicious. The vibe of the place is very homely and indie-urban, with records played throughout our stay. I cannot express how tasty the food was and we were very full when finished. It was made with love. Salvage Cafe is a must go !!!!!!!!
