Great views and nice interior. Food was okay. Would go back.

Absolutely our new favourite restaurant! The smell is absolutely beautiful, clean very funky and loved the music! All of the staff members are extremely friendly and attentive! We sat on the roof terrace, the views are spectacular, the food was fresh and absolutely excellent! 1000% would recommend Rockwater even if just for the sunset and some cocktails! Well worth the money!Kid-friendliness: Great menu for kids

Food was great... Korean fried chicken was great, burger was great as well. Then dessert came and it was poorly served. It was a long wait: we ordered sorbet and when it came, it melted. My friend ordered an apple crumble and it was supposed to come with Vanilla ice cream, but it came with the same sorbet that we ordered. What a pity. The environment was great- by the seafront, and everything was going so well... Until desserts.

Great atmosphere and location but service is not great....I was waiting my drink over 40 min and asked from 3 different waiting stuff...menu is very limited on the terrace but beautiful view.Dietary restrictions: Limited choice

Rockwater has become our firm favourite and never disappoints. We have found the food to be consistent and always to a high quality. The team at Rockwater are helpful and friendly and make the experience enjoyable. The scenery is gorgeous and there is nothing like a Hove sunset. This week we met Julia who runs the bottom floor and her warmth, friendliness and attention to ensure every customer has a positive experience is a gift. We will be back.Vegetarian options: Delicious options and plenty of choice

Beautiful restaurant, with great views out to sea. I had the vegan Sticky Korean Cauliflower, which was huge and extremely tasty. My friend had the vegan Green Glow bowl, which she also really enjoyed. We each had a soft drink, and it came to around £40 including service charge for the both of us, which was fair. Only criticism is that the juice was mainly ice, and so that was disappointing and not good value

Really enjoyed our spontaneous dinner at Rockwater. We didn’t have a booking and were initially seated at the bar (which was lovely despite the little leg-room!), but later moved to a table when it became available. It’s slightly more expensive than your average restaurant in Hove, but the location is second-to-none and it was particularly special to be able to watch the golden hour over the sea from our table. The service was warm and friendly, and relatively quick for a busy restaurant! Our waiter was knowledgeable about the menu and eager to help.I really liked the cucumber & pear spritz (though if I was being picky, the flavours could have been a little stronger) and the Korean fried chicken flatbread was very tasty. My partner’s antipasti pizza looked great, and he thought the blonde lager was excellent. The whole place was very dog-and-child friendly, and has a really nice vibe. We’ll definitely be back! ?

Popped in for a coffee with a friend, service was unbelievable. The staff were so so friendly. The coffee was also great. All round, a lovely setting for a catch up. But the wonderful staff were the cherry on top for me :)

Superb food, great setting overlooking the beach. We had great service too from Luke P, felt thoroughly spoilt for my birthday

The most awful dinner experience ever. Booked a table for 9 at 9pm. On arrival we were served drinks along with menu. No one returned to take our order and after some time and chasing several staff to order we were told the kitchen was closed and there was no food available.- we were actually told that kitchen closed at 9 so our table could never have ordered dinner. No apologies no discounts and no attempt to resolve the situation. Staff were ineffective unfriendly and completely unphased by the situation. Once escalated to management they couldn’t care less and we were charged over £600 for the horrible experience. All in all one of the worst (non) dinner and drinks service I have ever experienced. Do not go

Today I had a most bizarre and disappointing experience at Rockwater in Hove. I booked a table at lunchtime for me and my four year old daughter on the roof terrace as a nice treat after a morning spent at the nearby lagoon. After being seated we realised you can only order small plates and childrens meals on the roof terrace. My daughter wanted the the children’s mac n cheese, and there was also a pepperoni pizza (for £14) on the children’s menu, so I asked if we could order the mac n cheese and pepperoni pizza. I was told that wasn’t possible “because otherwise everyone would order pizza up here”. However, I was told they had space for us downstairs where we could order from the full menu, including pizza. So we moved downstairs, we’re seated on a sofa and given a menu - all fine so far. I then spent 10 minutes politely trying to attract the attention of a waiter whilst they visited all the surrounding tables but strangely ignored us. I eventually stood up and went to the bar to find a waiter and was told I shouldn’t have been given a menu and I couldn’t order food. This seemed rather odd at 12.30 when the people at the next table were all eating. The waiter seemed flustered and said they’d see what they could do, then disappeared for two minutes before returning to tell me they would “let me order pizza”. So I asked for one mac n cheese and one pepperoni pizza (which are £14.50 downstairs, so presumably the same ones I tried to order from the upstairs menu for £14). But I was told they would only “let me” order pizza downstairs, not mac n cheese! This was all very bizarre. So having booked a table, then tried to order two things from the upstairs menu but being told I could only have one, I was ushered downstairs, ignored, then told they would only “let me” order the other thing from the menu! So we left, and won’t be in a hurry to return. My daughter was quite disappointed, but she understood when I explained that they didn’t want us there.

Was hugely disappointed with this visit, me and my girlfriend came for our 5 year anniversary to the roof terrace last weekend. I had to sit through my girlfriend being repeatedly hit on my our waiter. Highly inappropriate and unprofessional. He was tall with dreadlocks and seemingly a manager as he was wearing a shirt. Not impressed. Would not come back despite lovely previous visits.

We went for my sons graduation last week, having been to the terrace twice before and absolutely loving it. We sat down stairs this time and it was all very average and we came away feeling disappointed. As other have said it’s near on impossible to have a conversation. We were sat by a large group who were very loud and sadly inappropriate, swearing, shouting and saying some vulgar comments, having younger children with us really ruined what was meant to be a celebration. In all fairness the waitress was very apologetic and they took our drinks off our bill, we didn’t ask for this. Personally I would have just preferred to have a lovely civil lunch at 2pm and not surrounded by people who sadly had no consideration for others around them. Would I go back? Maybe but to the terrace but certainly not to the middle floor again.

I have visited Rockwater many times and have always loved the experience and service. I had an early birthday lunch here today at the roof terrace with my mum, my daughter, my sister and my niece and it was the most lovely meal. The birthday card on the table was such a sweet touch and a lovely start to the meal. The atmosphere was vibrant and the staff were all absolutely lovely, always so friendly, welcoming and so attentive and accommodating with my 7 year old daughter and newborn niece. The food was so good we shared small plates and my daughter loved her vegan nachos! Drinks as always were really good, I love the Prosecco they have and we all loved the cocktails! It’s always a pleasant experience at Rockwater for lunch, dinner or just for drinks and I will definitely be returning! ?

Went to the Lodge for drinks. Served by Keiron who is the nicest and most professional member of staff who remembers what you drink and ALWAYS makes you feel welcome.
