Coming here always feels like a treat. Every dish is special, the staff are welcoming and friendly, and the atmosphere is busy in the best kind of way.

A wonderful restaurant! If you love your seafood and your beer you won't be disappointed, it's of the highest quality. I can't wait to go back ??

The Urchin was very quiet. There were only 2 of us but they managed to get the order wrong. The incorrect dish was changed but they still charged for it on Sun 10th March.Come on guys, wake up and do you job mindfully, how hard can it be? There were hardly any customers in. Very bad.

Wow! Simply perfect. A beautiful atmosphere, and some of the best seafood we've ever had (and we've had a lot...). Great beers, and a really interesting wine list too. Lovely team and service, really looked after us and our two young children. Highly recommended - it's now on our Brighton/Hove staples list. Thank you ?Kid-friendliness: Really accommodating and friendly with our 2- and 5-yo.

Dining at the Urchin in Hove was a true delight. The oysters and scallops for starters were exquisite, showcasing the restaurant's commitment to spectacular seafood. The prawn stew for the main course was absolutely divine – rich, flavourful, and expertly prepared. The atmosphere and music added to the overall experience, creating a perfect setting for a memorable dining evening. Highly recommend for seafood enthusiasts seeking a top-notch culinary experience.

Didn't eat here but tried 4 of their own brewed beers. All good. Ask for a paddle of 3 beers for £7.

The vibe was immaculate, the food was fresh and the servers take their time to listen and help you.I've wanted to try this for a while and I'm so glad I finally did. I could eat ten servings of the scallops in one go I'm sure. Will definitely be back again

We haven’t been to The Urchin for a few years as we’re not locals, but decided to head down to Hove for. Christmas treat to meet friends, and also to buy a voucher as a gift. When we arrived we expected the restaurant to be buzzing as it was a Sunday lunch, but it wasn’t! There were very few people in the restaurant, and we received a luke warm welcome from the staff. The service was slow, the staff looked bored and there was absolutely no atmosphere. We ordered scallop's for starters - off the specials board and off the main menu - both were well cooked , but cold! We followed with spicy Malaysian prawns and crab, again delicious but served with no enthusiasm, no follow up with “how is everything?” …”would you like any more drinks?” ..eventually we went up to the bar and ordered drinks! On the whole, very average due to the lack of atmosphere and bored staff! We decided against buying a voucher for a friend for Christmas. ?
